The BATSUIT Thread

I tried to find a gif of the epic shot in Begins of him watching over the city as dawn breaks, but inexplicably I couldn't find it.

I just wanna see this Reeves Batsuit in all its glory in an action scene that’s similar to the one from the trailer, but with like 5-8 dudes. Limited cuts, mostly stationary camera, and brutal choreography.

I think there's a major reason too why the Begins suit looks that damn good. The cape draped over the shoulders. Put it over the shoulders, TDK suit style and it'd look as goofy as that suit. But the cape over the shoulders just adds so goddamn much.

Reeves suit is my favorite I've seen in live-action. it has enough going on without feeling busy and utilizes ideas and imagery from enough other Batman stuff to be really fun.

It also seems like the one he'd be able to feasibly use the suit most in as opposed to just somehow having a compartment here or there that other suits have done.

IDK...everyone has their preferences but I hope they stick to this suit with only minor edits as time goes.

it looks like something that someone with enough money and technical know-how can put together irl if they wanted to go out at night to beat the eff out of criminals.

It looked incredible in the trailer. The shot where he’s walking toward the camera is just *drools*

I love the position of the cape around the shoulders. I’m happy they get kept the grey and black but it actually looks like it protects his chest and arms this time. It’s somewhere between Bale and Affleck.

The Begins suit was gorgeous! A tad bulky but he looked intimidating as hell in that thing. The TDK and TDKR suits however..... gross. He looked like roadmap/armor man and the the nose on the cowl was silly looking, never sat right on his face. He looked a lot scrawnier in those suits as well. I often think how great that interrogation scene in TDK would have been with the Begins suit, or the Bane fights in TDKR...

Just re-read Earth One vol. 2 and this line makes me laugh.

Looking back at the BB suit, the only thing I think was too bulky was that damn neck area.. otherwise, it was pretty darn sleek. If only they focused on refining that neck area for version 2 as opposed to changing it entirely.

Imo, Maybe except for the cape, the Begins suit looks too much like an Offspring of the Burton/Schumacher mindset of constructing Batsuits, (hate the dishwasher gloves too). Say what you want about TDK suit (I dont like it much tbh) but at least it went its own way, which the same could be said about Reeves Suit, it is decidely HIS version and I truly appreciate that.

I can agree with that. It is quite nice that they’ve moved away from the all black rubber body armour look. I think they honestly just didn’t know how else to approach it and didn’t want to risk it looking silly by doing something more accurate to the comics.
For all their faults, I think we can thank Snyder and Co. for pushing for a more comic accurate costume. It has definitely opened the door to more interpretations of the suit.

Agreed 100%

The Begins suit looked good because it was shot wonderfully...u hardly notice the awful gloves or how the neck plays against the rest of the suit..
I think the Dark Knight suit evolved it well (shoulders, forearms etc)..where they screwed up is how the suit was shot (it made the Begins suit look bad), and the worst part of the suit the chest was overly complicated.....
if they had iterated on the cowl and used a similar style to shoot the suit as in Begins it would work great (granted the cape cloaked over batman shots are in tune with that film).

Rises improved a little in that department

I suspect it could be very Daredevil style choreography. The way he beat down that one guy reminded me of DD giving some massive beatdowns to some thugs
I understand the sentiment but Daredevil on that show ate way too many shots by regular old hired goons for my liking. Pretty sure that same punk Batman whoops in the trailer would have caught DD with 3 hits before getting stomped.
