So, we have gotten two official trailers so far, and we have gotten two seperate songs attached to them. The first featured The Smashing Pumpkin's "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning"...

And the second trailer featured Muse's "Take a Bow"...

Which do you think was the better song?

To me...Smashing Pumpkins wins this bout!

Smashing Pumpkins' song by a long shot.

At least with how it fits with Watchmen.

I like the tone established by the Pumpkins' song better. The lyrics fit well with the imagery and story too.

Smashing Pumpkins is better for Watchmen....it fit so well...but I enjoy both songs

I like both as well, but would have to give the edge to Smashing Pumpkins.

Smashing Pumpkins fits the Watchmen universe because of its lyrics, but I would say "Take a Bow" is a better song.

I like both of them but the Pumpkins track had to grow on me whereas the Muse one just seemed to instantly fit... especially the way it seemed to mix so seemlessly with the Philip Glass song.
Actually, The Philip Glass song gets my vote for best song used so far by the trailers... THAT felt very Watchmen.

I prefer The Beginning is the End is the Beginning. The lyrics and the music just fits it more imo.

Smashing Pumpkins all the way. It set a better tone.

If the question is: Who's the better band? Then in my book, they're about even!

smashing pumpkins is superior, with no contest

They were both superbly chosen songs. Snyder knows how to chose 'em.

I prefer the Smashing Pumpkins song. It fit the tone of the trailer alot better than the Muse song.

I love Muse, so they got my vote. The editing of the song moves smoothly with the trailer as well.

Smashing Pumpkins all the way. I like a lot of there music, never heard Beginning is the End until the Watchmen trailer and it fit perfectly. The Muse song wasn't bad either but not as memorable. Snyder has a great idea of music to use in his movies. The NIN song from the 300 trailer was *****ing awesome and fit perfectly as well.

i'm sure you know, but i just found out recently.
did you guys know that song is originally from the Batman&Robin soundtrack? worst movie ever, but dynamite song from it.

and billy corgan wrote it WITH BATMAN IN MIND!

i think that explains right there why it feels so natural with a Superhero movie like watchmen where you have two characters so similar (yet so different) to the dark knight himself (Rorschach and Night Owl are like the two sides of Batman)

i never knew that before that the lyrics are specifically about Batman's world. very dark, very like Watchmen. strange that it would match so much better to a different movie as opposed to the tripe that was B&R.
