Serenity and The Reavers vs The Alliance in SERENITY, amazing action sequences and one of the best space battle's ever.

 

[The Shape]

Say what you want, but the chase in the middle of The Dark Knight is one of the best ever. It's filmed beautifully and everything is so well-orchestrated, from the amazing practical effects (Bat-Pod, truck flip) to the sound mixing. It builds and builds and there isn't even any music for the first half of it.

Yeah, that was excellent. I loved the sound of the pocket watch to go with it.

But I thought the shootout scene in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is much better.

Ehm...''Shoot-out''? Make that ''Standoff''. There are TWO bullets fired during the entire scene. Not an action sequence in ANY WAY. (It is however one of the finest scenes ever filmed)

For a true shoot-out check out The Wild Bunch.
Or perhaps I don't do it justice by calling it that.
''Ballet of Bullets'' is better.
''Absolute ****ing insane mayhem and massacre'' comes close aswell.

no one (including tarantino) will make an action sequence like this ever again. 30 minutes of people getting limbs cut, heads decapitated, and bodies split in 2. This sequence leading up to the show down with O-Ren will always be embedded in my head .
