Best film he's been in: "Platoon"
Best film where he was the lead: "Donnie Brasco", or possibly "Blow".
Best performance by him in a movie: probably "Ed Wood".

I would've voted for Once Upon A Time In Mexico, but the story was crap. Depp's character was awesome.

I loved him in Blow, I can honestly watch that movie once a week. He was a total scene stealer in Once Upon Time In Mexico. And I just recently aquired Finding Neverland, which i'm sure he's great in.

Edward Scissorhands. No movie touched me like this...

polls only go up to 25....you only added 18 you had room to put in 7 more depp films...so....START OVER!!! :)

From Hell and Edward Sissorhands both sucked. Corpse Bride was much better than edward sissorhands.

you will die a long and painful death, where you will be burned and slowly eatin by a monster who eats very slowly :)

Pirates of the Caribbean
Blow
Edward Scissorhands
Finding Neverland

Depp is one the greatest if not the greatest actor of his generation, always watchable even if the film isn't.

Edward Scissorhands
Sleep Hollow
and POTC :)

when i read the choices it became clearly unclear to me that in most all of depp's movies, he never DOMINATES the film. He either plays an off kilter charatcter, a quiet one, or one that shares the lead with an ensemble cast... so it's tough to really say, "depp OWNED this movie" b/c he tries with success to simply blend into the story. and i'd say the ones where he doesn't blend are not among the best ones...Tough poll, my personal fave is probably Sleepy Hollow, but i could understand dap for depp in Ed Scissors, Pirates, Donnie Brasco, and a couple others.

Chocolate Factory was a bore, IMO.

Ed Scissorhands is a Depp classic (if not his best) and you can't beat Jack Sparrow.

Oh, and I liked him in Rodriguez's Once Upon a Time in Mexico. The pork monologue! :D

Jack Sparrow is a great cinematic character, Depp loves the character so much he would like to make six POTC films!!!

when POTC came out thier was Oscar talks of Depp as Sparrow. Still can't figure out the love for Edward Sissorhands Critics tore that film apart.

"Hold me"
Edward Sissorhands raises his hands up.
"I can't"

*throws up*

Depp's best tearjerk film is by far Finding Neverland. Oscar Nomination for 2004.

I've just rewatched What's Eating Gilbert Grape again, and I thought it was amazing movie.

But Di Caprio's actiong was even greater than Depp's. Anyway I love this movie and it is in my TOP3 of my favorite movies.

Don Juan DeMarco and Cry-Baby are missing from this list as well.

I finally sawCorpse Bride on DVD.

Honestly, it was excellent animation movie with hothic style (I like gothic style in Burton's movies) and fantastic storytelling, so my rate is 8.5 out of 10.

Depp was by far the best part of that movie.

Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas takes the cake by far.

Deadman is also fantastic and missing, so I put in a sympathy vote under "Another" for the idiots out there who think POTC is the only thing he's ever been in.
And I can't wait for RR to get around to making the next two Sands movies.
