I know most of you arent too fond of rappers crossing over to acting...but i just wanted to know which rapper you though was actually decent. Keep an open mind on this I want to hear actual opinions and constructive criticism...If your thoughts on rappers doing movies are mostly one sided and negative take it to another thread please...My choice would be Mos Def.

Not a fan of rapper actors either, but I respect Mos Def.
I like his music, I believe he's done Shakespearean theater, and 16 Blocks was a good movie. He was pretty decent in the Italian Job also

Mos Def, easily.
He should quit the rapping business, since rap sucks, and just dedicate himself to acting, because he's great at it.

do u know if he's had any previous acting experience? cuz its a really rare thing to be a rapper/musician and then transition so well into being an actor.

Mos began his professional acting career at the age of 14, appearing in the TV movie God Bless the Child, starring Mare Winningham. He then played the oldest child in the short-lived family sitcom, You Take the Kids, starring Nell Carter and Roger E. Mosley. His most notable acting role before his music career was that of Bill Cosby's sidekick on the short-lived detective show, The Cosby Mysteries.

After brief appearances in Bamboozled and Monster's Ball, Mos re-invigorated his acting career with his performance as a talented rapper who is reluctant to sign to a major label in Brown Sugar. He was nominated for an Image Award and a Teen Choice Award.

thanx...so i see he actually acted before he started rapping professionally.

Though it doesn't count in the movie catagory, Ice-T's great on Law & Order: SVU.

I would have voted for Mos Def...but I liked him better in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I couldnt quite think of any movies he's been in that ive seen, sorry that choice seems kind of out of place lol.

On that list, definitely Mos Def and Ice-T.
Ludacris, who should be on the poll, is definitely the most acclaimed rapper/actor, starring in acclaimed movies such as Crash and Hustle & Flow.

mos def was a rapper ?

Yep.
He is kinda underground and not as mainstream as others.
He is a great rapper, also.

Why isn't Will Smith on this list? Anyway, I'll go with Ice-T.

Damn, I forgot all about him.
He pwns all on the list. I look at him as such an A-List star that I forgot all about Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince.

Janet Jackson and Tupac did a damn good job in Poetic Justice.

Where is L.L Cool Jay. I'd have to say Ice Cube is my favorite but 50 censt up coming role in Home of The Brave may change me mind.
