The Bionic Man

I watched a few interviews with her on youtube. She does seem very bubbly and charming, which is definitely a Jaime quality. Lindsay Wagner was pretty much playing herself. She always made Jaime very human and spontaneous. I'm convinced some of the lines or mannerisms were probably improvised, unless Lindsay was that good (which she could be, since she was an Emmy award winner) that she could make written material seem as if she was just thinking some of this stuff up on the spot. That's a quality that Keibler or any actress would need to bring to the role.

Stacy Keibler kind of looks a little like Maria Sharapova, who also has very long legs (and is a tennis player!) so if they did stick with the tennis pro background (or some slight homage to it since realistically it doesn't work) then Keibler definitely has the right look.

I didn't know that about Stone Cold. He could play a throwaway baddie in the movie too, just for fun. No-one major, just some thug for Steve Austin to take down, so that it would be Steve Austin vs Stone Cold Steve Austin. :awesome:

:pal:

You know that John Houseman (Dr Franklin) played Lindsay Wagner's father in The Paper Chase movie, just a few years earlier? She didn't reprise her role in the series but Houseman's character, Kingsfield, still acted in much the same way as he does as Dr Franklin.

BTW, I remember that John Saxon played a male robot created by Dr Dolenz, who took on Steve Austin in one of the earlier seasons. He was pretty similar to the Fembots, but his face didn't come off. However, the 6MDM toy "Maskatron" (who was the toy villain) was based on John Saxon's likeness but he had a removable face like the Fembots.

I think Dolenz and Franklin could be colleagues in a future movie and they could work on these robots together. Dolenz might concentrate on the men while Franklin focuses on the ladies.

I just watched the final battle between Steve Austin and "Maskatron" on You Tube a few days ago, and his face actually does come off. I just don't think they did it to make him look like someone else like with the Fembots.

What if it's not Franklin and Spencer that get booted from OSI in the movie, but Spencer and Dolenz? Doctor Franklin gets introduced in the sequel, but not as a villain. Okay, new story . . .

The first movie, The Six Billion Dollar Man, works as we stated earlier with the exception that the villains are Oliver Spencer and Doctor Dolenz instead of Oliver Spencer and Doctor Franklin. Then in the sequel, The Bionic Woman, Doctor Franklin is an eccentric billionaire inventor. He created the fembots to be the sex toys of the rich and famous. No longer will Charlie Sheen have to worry about his sexploits being leaked to the Hollywood tabloids by the hookers, strippers, and porn stars he's boning. He can just have a fembot made to look like anyone he wants, and do any deviant sex act he might desire. Spencer and Dolenz send Maskatron (or maybe Bigfoot, or Barney Hiller, someone bionic/robotic anyway) to kill Spencer and steal his design. Then they reprogram the fembots to be killing machines. They increase their strength, speed, etc, and program them to kill on demand. Jaime Sommers has her skydiving accident, which we later find out is due to sabotage, and she's made into The Bionic Woman. She and Steve then track down Spencer and Dolenz, battle their way through Bigfoot and the fembots, have their final showdown with Barney Hiller and Lisa Galloway, then capture or kill Spencer and Dolenz.

How does that sound?

I'm not fully agreed with topic starter

Are you referring to the topic itself? Or of his casting choices? If it's the first thing, then why not? If it's the second, then who do you see playing each role? I've already cast my votes.

Ok, I got to thinking. Steve Austin is an accomplished test piolt, the best . In Dynamites series (which you all should be reading) he is called the "Elvis of test piolts". So you can't have a young gq model( evans, tatum, etc) playing the guy. He has to young enough to do at least 3 movies but look old enough to play a man...not a boy. So I was thinking who could capture that charm and swagger that Majors brought to the role of Steve Austin. So I'm gonna try a lil casting here and yes a few are Lost alum.

Col. Steve Austin : Josh Holloway

Oscar Goldman: Bruce Greenwood

Dr.Rudy Wells: Harrison Ford

Jamie Summers: Evangaline Lilly

Ok. Josh has the rugged but handsome look and has that swagger much like Majors. Greenwood come to mind while watching I,Robot and Star Trek....He can do commanding but also be very gentle like the tv show oscar was. I picked Ford because he has that calming voice in a way...like he could break the horrible news to you but yet make it seem like its all gonna be ok.
Lilly has that sweetness about her but is also gorgeous but she doesn't seem untouchable.

Hull( see comic series) Hugh Jackman

Well that's definitely a better casting than your initial one, and some of those aren't bad picks at all. I don't know though if Harrison Ford would be too big a name and also too tough for Rudy. I don't know if Josh Holloway is any more of a man than Evans though. I haven't seen him in anything so I couldn't really say.

I was reminded of Jaime Ray Newman in another thread, and she could actually be a good fit for Jaime Sommers. She even has the same first name. She's cute and approachable and a great personality, as well as being hot, and has some of the same qualities of Lindsay Wagner as well as a similar kind of look. She just would have to go a bit more blonde.

Maybe they should kickoff the franchise with Maxamillion first!

Wasn't that movie about the dolphin with a robot tail a huge success?

jk:oldrazz:
Relax, people are just discussing the entire franchise, or having fun fan-casting, nobody said Bionic Woman should be first. If anything we'd be lucky to see any of these made.

On that note, how come Max never had an action figure in the Kenner line? I would have loved a bionic dog toy - http://www.plaidstallions.com/kenner/duke1.jpg

I suppose it depends which interpretation of Rudy you're going for. The most well known one is Martin E Brooks, who originally had an Alan Oppenheimer hairstyle, but then later didn't (he had a full head of hair).

You realize you mention Brooks but pictured Martin Balsam in the role, right?
