Infinity War The Black Order

Goddammit, now I kinda want Whoopi Goldberg as Proxima Midnight.

We shall not settle for anything less! :oldrazz: Damn you, Hype.

LOL

I honestly think her voice is TOO instantly recognisable. It would totally take me out of the picture. A bit like of Alan Rickman (RIP) had been Corvus Glaive.

Question is "Cull Obsidian" supposed to be Black Dwarf? And if so why the name change?

Why was he ever called Black Dwarf in the first place? I don't know anything about the character, and thought that name didn't make much sense.

Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde.

I don't know much about any of these characters. I guess the names were less asthetic to the design of the characters and more to the origin or powerset. Or maybe it's like Pacific Rim where they just combine two random words that sounds good together. Y'know Gypsy Danger, Coyote Tango, Cherno Alpha. Pretty similar to names like Proxima Night, Ebony Max, and ofc Black Dwarf. No sense to the actual design or abilities but they sound cool so...yeah. No explanation need I guess. :funny:

Black Dwarf is a star, as is Proxima (although it's Proxima Centauri) Corvus is a constellation.

What’s the main difference between Ebony Maw and Corvus Glaive? They both seem similar to me.

Very different.

Corvus is a fighter with super strength and speed, his glaive can cut through anything, and as long it's unbroken he can regenerate from any wound and even death. He's the teams Wolverine on steroids.

Ebony Maw is a controller whos voice can make anyone do anything.

Interestingly, Ebony Maw basically means "Black Mouth". Corvus also means "Crow", and Proxima Midnight means "Almost Midnight"

Compared to the Black Order, I feel like Gamora & Nebula are rather UP even though they're all Children of Thanos.

Nebula is the weakest. This is likely why she seems to dislike Thanos. He probably let her know how much he hates weakness.

It feels to me like Gamora and Nebula were the newest children, still going through trials/training. Maybe if they had stayed with Thanos long enough to be initiated into the Black Order, they might have been given the boss level weapons and enhancements.

That reminds me of something someone mentioned before about Gamora being Thanos' "favored daughter", so wouldn't she be the most powerful. But it could mean that she was the most cunning, or most ruthless, or had the most untapped potential. In my mind Thanos doesn't the most powerful agents, he's already got power. What he needs are agents who are proven the most loyal, cunning, and cruel. He can then easily give them power.

I can't even remember if Gamora's been shown to have anything special going on powers/durability-wise (in the MCU). Like yeah, she's an ultra-skilled hand-to-hand combatant, but is there a reason Thanos spared her?

Sort of seems like there'd be a reason he'd take the other Order "siblings" as his children, potential and all. Nebula it seems like he just wanted to torture and try to breed some strength through suffering, but assuming Gamora was just a regular nothing-that-special child of whatever species she is, do we know why he singled her out?

Falcon shouldn't be able to take on Proxima Midnight IMO.

I hope the Black Order decimates them. Although it seems like they'll fail the first time, sooooooo. Idk. I want them to be formidable threats and not fodder.

Agreed. Also in the trailer, it looks like...
Black Widow stabs one of them with Corvus' blade. So if she's able to kill them, they've definitely been under powered. I have a feeling they're just going to be a one and done and not make it past A3

She's pretty strong, for example shown in this scene.

I want Cap to decimate her! :cmad::cmad::cmad:

They do yes. Although things would be too easy if the 2 of them could take out 2 of the Black Order by themselves with so many other big heroes in deserve.

From other stuff I have read about these characters, Cap shouldn't even be able to catch Proxima Midnight's spear either, but its still a pretty badass moment in the trailer. The truth is they will be underpowered compared to how powerful they are in the comics, but it honestly doesn't really bother me. At least it will allow for what should be some awesome hand to hand fights.
