Age of Ultron The Black Widow Thread

I thought here haircut was perfect for TWS, as it went well with the badass/bad girl personality she had in this movie

I was hesitant about her cap 2 wig at first too but I came around to it and now it's my favorite look for her. The sleekness and simplicity of it suits her the most, whereas I think the short curls in Avengers are a bit aging and too fussy for her.

I'm actually curious to see on what new layer will be revealed/added to widow's character in this film. In avengers we saw her traumatized by the hulk and in the winter soldier, we saw her become even more vulnerable at times (fury's death and her scene with steve at falcon's house)

I prefer TWS hair to Avengers, it made her look sharper.

TWS hair and everything else is the closest to comic BW to me. I can't wait to see how Joss moves her forward from TWS. I just hope she doesn't go back to closing herself off from everything and everyone.

I think the compilation shows how much better from movie to movie her fight choreography and Scarlett get in convincing you she's actually fighting and taking down these opponents.

In Iron Man II it's all very cartoony, all style and no substance. There's no real weight to any of it and those guys go down easier than Cooper Indians (really not one guy even tries to shoot her or even gets a hit in). The Avengers is much better, except for when she knocks that guy out with her hair...

By far the best though are in CA2, her specific physical strengths, inventiveness and skill are shown to their best effect. The fights are brutal and impactful. She doesn't just waltz through everyone like in Iron Man II.

I adore her little battle with the Winter Soldier. When she gets shot, you can see the fear in her eye. So well done. Then Cap shows up.

IDK if they were evenly matched necessarily. She was basically using a bunch of tricks/ambushes/cleverness, just to slow him down. At no point did it seem like she actually had the advantage. And she dismantled his arm for like 5 seconds, and then he literally just shrugged it off.

Well she did get him to do exactly what she wanted, which was chase after/be distracted by her rather than going immediately after Steve when he was stuck inside that bus without his shield. She caught him off guard three times, too.

I think in the end, both BW and WS came out looking great, and both had advantage over the other even though you can see that WS is more powerful. This is also why WS fought Cap to a standstill later on. Just one of the many reasons why that movie rocked.

I recently came across this old jazz song ("Everything I've Got") that I felt somehow embodied Black Widow -- if you completely ignore the fact that its actually sung from the standpoint of a vengeful wife -- if for no other reason than that the lyrics are about twisting necks and hammerlock holds.

Given the compilation video posted above, I did a quick mash-up with the song. Obviously a video specifically cut to match the song would be better, but I think this gives the general idea. Or maybe I'm completely crazy. If you're interested you can check out the link below:

You may have to let the videos buffer for a while before they play together in-synch.

So I just found out they are interested in doing a Black Widow solo movie. Fantastic.

Unfortunately I think that's all just click bait and people putting too much stock in off the cuff quotes at the moment. I'll believe it when I hear it straight from Marvel.

Would completely kick ass if they pulled the trigger though.

I'd like a BW/Hawkeye team up. Don't really want either solo unless they have Falcon-like buddies.

Don't be surprised if BW gets killed off in AoU. Banner/Hulk will blame Stark for it for creating/reviving Ultron, hence the Hulkbuster scenes. I know Joss loves him some strong female characters, but this would certainly up the ante a little bit. Don't discount the scene in the SDCC trailer with her saying "Nothing lasts forever."

Right now I'm pretty sure the majority speculation is [BLACKOUT]Rhodey[/BLACKOUT] will be the one kicking the bucket, but that's another topic.

I doubt they kill off a female character when they are already such a minority on the team. I also doubt they kill off Scarlett.

Agreed, Black Widow is Marvel's strongest female character right now and has interesting dynamics with Cap, Hawkeye and Banner, there is way too much future potential that would be thrown away if she was killed off.

Yeah, it would be pretty idiotic to kill her off at this point imo. Widow hit her stride with TWS, making the potential future of the character quite enticing.

The "death" in the film to me could be Banner "disappearing", presumed dead.
