Age of Ultron The Black Widow Thread

Well, or a bunch of others she listed. I got the impression she was listing Marvel female characters that could potentially have been in a movie and she went in to speak about something (my guess is they wanted her for some role and the exact role was to be determined). Of course, I couldn't imagine Iron Man 2 having anyone other than Black Widow. Not so much from an Avengers perspective (where Wasp would, of course, make more sense) but both from a plot perspective (if SHIELD is going to send someone to spy, Black Widow makes the most sense) and from an Iron Man perspective (Black Widow does have ties to that character as well).

You never know until release, been plenty of disappointments to huge films over the years, even from directors with a history of good work.

Why wouldn't the movie be good? :D

What Iceman said, plus I really don't like the first (though Widow was really good in that one too, so I'm sure she'll at least be good here even if I don't like the overall film).

Nah, she's got too much attitude for Captain Marvel

I give her credit though, she looks in better shape now than she did pre-pregnancy

Be that as it may, I don't think that will be the case here. Just my opinion, though, but I think Whedon will deliver all of the goods.

Oh I expect it to be amazing, the very best from MCU to date and nearly everyone here is optimistic. But I've had expectations of 'bankers' that have gone wrong over the last few decades. There's sometimes no clue until right before release, and sometimes not till your own viewing. But even with those experiences I really think Whedon is going to smash this one out of the park, just that I remember those experiences of following a film from years out and it being disappointing.

Nat's most impressive superpower is being able to do anything in 6 inch wedges.

I wonder if the suit only lights up when she needs it too, otherwise it's not ideal for being a spy.

She had them in the first movie as well (probably so that Scarlett didn't look quite so short when compared to her co-stars). Whedon just shot the movie in such a way that you didn't really see them (I only knew about them from behind the scenes photos that I saw).

Yeah, I noticed them in TWS as well though I read she did a lot of her running scenes in sneakers, they just shot around them.

You would think they could find a way practically within camera to maker slightly taller then just wearing heels. Last I checked Tom cruise doesn't wear wedges in his movies and he always appears taller then he is.

They have ramps and things but high heels or flats seem to be the go to for women in terms of big height difference before they have to resort those.

Also note that not a lot of Cruises main co-stars are tall. Look at MI4. The only tall actor was Josh Holloway and he got offed in the pre credits. Renner, Pegg, Patton, Nyqvist are all average or below avg in height. It's easier to shoot around a 1-3 inch difference in height than say the 5-12 inches which is what Scarlett would be next to the other Avengers.

Now I'm imagining spader walking around in huge stilettos to try to get to ultron size and Whedon telling him it's unnecessary because he's only voicing.

I want to know how that power source works on BW. Is it coming from her knees? Also what is it? Its not arc reactor tech is it?

Personally, I would've played up the fact that BW's actually quite short/petite. The fact that this tiny chick is an absolute wrecking ball would make it all the more impressive in my eyes.

You can still tell that. During the "argument" scene in the first movie, she's standing right next to Thor. And even WITH the wedges added a couple of inches, Chris Hemsworth still towers over her. What is Scarlett's height, like 5'3" or something?

The problem is that it makes filming conversations and interactions difficult if the eye line is at about a foot difference. It's just easier to put her in higher heels than it is to build ramps and troughs for.

When they're all suited up the Captain America boots make Evans at least 2 inches taller, RDJ is at least 6 inches taller in the Iron Man suit and even Hemsworth is taller in gear while the Hulk is like 9 feet. She'd get lost down there at 5'3.

Considering what's happened in TWS can we even still technically consider her a spy?

holy crap, how did I never realize the promo art never shows her feet??
She's been LIEFIELDED!!

no but, the wedges do look weird

why does Natasha have on a Tron costume?
