The Brave and the Bold News and Discussion Thread

Maybe; but Driver's a good comedic performer too. Always love him on SNL. He could give us the good character melodrama while still dealing with the zaniness that comes with Gunn's DCU.
But he's too ugly to be a star. :o

What about Driver as the DCU Batman?

He's the perfect choice for DCU Joker.

What about Driver as the DCU Batman?

He was one of my few candidates to play Batman in Reeves' movie.
I actually think he would also make an interesting old-school and sinister Joker... Just like all the great actors who have played Batman could probably play a great Prince of Crime on their own (Keaton, Bale, Pattinson). Otherwise, I could also see him in the role of Harvey Dent...

But coming back to the DCU, and despite what I just said, I feel like that universe needs another vibe for its Batman...

Thinking wayyyyyy back. Wasn’t Driver considered for Lex Luthor in the BvS days or am I just imagining that? Wither way, he’d have been better than Eisenberg.

Then again, a tape dispenser would have been better too.

Now that you mention it, it rings a bell...
If that was indeed the case, he really dodged a bullet there. That disaster, on top of the (lame) mockery about his look in Star Wars, would have been too much...

Well... he still ended up in Megalopolis...

These guys did a casting sesh on Batman tonight. Some of their choices are so cringe (Milo V? Seriously?) And Ackles please go away already I’m glad you cosplayed as Red Hood once woo hoo). But they brought up Theo James, who I still really like for a slightly older Batman. He really felt like a Bruce Wayne to me in The Gentlemen and I could totally see it. Devilishly handsome at 40 but could pass for 10 years younger; you watch him in White Lotus and can easily see him as public persona playboy Bruce.

They also nailed the issue with Alden Ehrenreich and it finally hit me in the face. Great actor but he’s just not cool. His Han Solo was fine but he’s not cool, and Han needs to be cool. He just isn’t. Batman obviously has to also be cool.

Alden (again great actor) just seems too slight and uncertain to ever have that cool factor that a Batman or Han Solo needs.

But THE BOYS! :o
