The Bryce Dallas Howard/Gwen Stacy Thread

Not go away. Let me explain:
why does someone has to die?
People say that MJ should die, that Gwen should die...
Why the women has to die? Kill Harry( he'll probably die on this one), or Cap Stacy, but not Gwen.
If she goes away on this one she could comeback on the sequel.
But PLEASE DON'T KILL THE HOT CHICKS!!!!!

Good point. I think we are ALL a little tired of women in refrigerators...(spoken as someone who not only thinks the original Gwen's death was criminal on Stan's part but is still a little bitter about poor Sue Dibney.)

Yes she will and its not exactly a hard thing to do. Dunst isn't sexy at all, she's ok-looking at best...at least in the spidey flicks anyway. MJ in these movies looks average at best. Not once has there been a scene where its like, "Cot damn! I wanna hit that".

Exactly...really though on an aesthetic level KD can be quite attractive just looking at proportions...but she doesn't have any of the fire, independence, or brashness of the comic book M.J...KD always looks just well sulky which is just not very attractive. I really think they should have picked a different actress who if less "trendy" at the time had a little more natural spunk to bring to the role. Unlike many others I don't mind them casting a redhead as a blonde or a blonde as a redhead as long as they "get" the part. (Famkee after all wasn't the way I pictured Jean Grey but I liked what she did with the role.) Unfortunately KD is NOT right for MJ, I don't think she would have been right for Gwen either; too frosty, and is not compelling as Peter's lady love. As one critic put it about Spiderman 2he thought Peter should have gone for Betty Brant or the girl who played the landlord's daughter. I wonder if Raimi and others realized their mistake, and I wonder if that isn't a big reason Gwen's suddenly showing up in the story *now* even though MJ got her bridge scene. Plus KD doesn't want to stay with the series; (which may also have something to do with the noticeable sulkiness in Spiderman 2) which would be another reason to find a new girl for the franchise; and this time pick someone with good looks, actual acting chops, and who actually is happy to be doing the job. Someone like Bryce.

I have to say seeing Gwen Stacy on screen is one of the things I'm most excited about for Spiderman 3 and as someone who thought Bryce was the best part about "The Village," I'm quite pleased she got the part. In all the stills I've seen so far from the movie with her in it, she looks wonderful; pretty, wholesome, and fresh, and it does seem judging from the trailer that she and Pete have real chemistry. (I also note she looks a lot better than Kristen does in stills; even at the press conferences Kristen looked kind of well...common in comparison to Bryce. JMHO.) It will be interesting to see how they portray her in all this-and if in this version Gwen lives and MJ dies. Yeah, I know it's totally different from the comic but at least the way Dunst plays her I'm not digging MJ here all that much.

Amen

I'm I late,Bryce is on Oprah and apparently she's 6 months pregnant. Is this old news?

Aww.Yeah, most of us knew she was pregnant but I did not know she was 6 months pregnant.

That would explain people thinking she's fat. Shouldn't be too good for the baby if she's on a harness all day in the middle of the air though.

I didn't catch her walk onto the show,I did TiVo it so I'll look. She looked uncomfortable.

She could do headstands and jumping jacks from now until she has the kid, and it'll still come out smarter than the Cruise baby. Seriously, Suri's only smiling because she has no idea she has a couch-jumper for a father.

This has been said alot lately. To be clear- Stan had nothing to do with Gwen's death in the comics. It happened just after he handed the writing chores on Spidey over to Gerry Conway. Stan's said several times that he didn't want Gwen to be killed.
