BvS The BvS Ultimate Cut Thread - Part 2

I do believe a lot of the actions fuelling Batman in this movie were less stemmed from logic and reason,and more from emotion and pain.Even the resolution of the fight was based on the same thing,not strict logic,but emotion.

I really think thats a reason many think things in this movie did not make sense.Because maybe it doesnt from a logical perspective,but does from an emotional one.However is there any right or wrong in this?I dont know.

So I watched the UC 3 times.

I think the only 3 things that would have really worth it's place in the TC is the flame thrower on the corpses in Africa + when Clark interogate the branded guy's wife with her baby and lex with stephenwolf

The flamethrower to me explains enough to validate the Africa scenario in the TC (and who cares if the black woman is for real or not, Sups look bad anyway)

The wife pass a point across that resonate in Clark that he need to send a message to Batman as Superman (with physicality)

The communion scene to give just enough hint on what Lex rant about when he's in prison

So basically , add 3 minutes to the TC and you're good IMO.

Yeah Communion seemed way out of place. I would have taken out him getting arrested at the end and had him do that when he first enters the ship to create Doomsday.

Just watched the Ultimate cut. Enjoyed the theatrical cut, but this was so much better. I still can't fathom the amount of negativity to this film quite honestly. To each their own I suppose.

When I bought the UC, I just bought this solo instead of the same price bundle that comes with the TC too. This cut is all I need and the other will go down in history as the main version to critics and general audience which is a shame but I stopped giving a damn!

I only got the bundle because it came with a special feature on Vudu. Little did I realize it was the same CW special shown back in January. At least in the end I got a free copy of the pointless TC.

It's not just here, it's happening everywhere I go. People are really digging the UE.

Good for them if so, but there's a way to conduct yourself online. A way to express your opinions without it becoming hostile. If someone gets banned for being that way, good riddance I say.

Agreed. I tend to avoid arguments and try to really make clear what my own opinions are and try not to state them as facts. I do like well thought out discussion though, and I have no beef with anyone with a different opinion as long as they don't insult me.

WB should have released just the Ultimate Cut on Bluray and DVD, there's no reason to release the Theatrical Cut.

Did you notice any cut scenes? I only spotted Superman flying down from the sky during the Africa scene being absent, and water not gushing onto Clark's glasses as much.

Hmmm on this first watch through of the Ultimate I was more so looking for the new stuff to see what was added in. I wasn't paying much attention to what might've been removed. I will have to keep an eye out on my next viewing.

I agree. It pains me that the 4K Blu-ray combo pack comes with jus the UE on the 4K disc and the TC on the Blu-ray. I'm trying to upgrade but I don't have a 4K tv or player yet, WB! At least I have it digitally, but releasing the TC is just pointless.

I was already pumped for WW, SS and JL and the DCEU in general. But after watching the Ultimate edition I am that much more excited now for all of that.

Maybe because that was just posturing or else they would have to establish that Doomsday indeed obeys Lex.

There is one shot in the warehouse scene where Batman turns the force of a thug against him and flips him a good 10 feet and ends in a crouched position. I didn't see that in the UE. Now I'm starting to think if it was even in the TC, because I remember that from Trailer 3. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yeah I know. Someone mentioned that and I changed my mind and decided to get the Bluray pack instead. Sucks.

It does bother me they are releasing the TC through Home media. Damn the R rating.

And you guys are right, the only scene that felt out of place was the communion scene, right after Superman's death. Nope. Should have added that in the middle of the battle. Regardless, still a great movie.

They changed "obeys only me " to "Blood of my blood".

Obviously the subtlety was lost on many viewers and the original line should have been kept,as its more straightforward.
