Nope! Like Willard said, keep Tyrese away from all Marvel properties. He plays the same character in every movie he's in andhe sux. Not to mention he sux and looks nothing like Luke Cage at all. Did I mention he sux?

This isnt the place but I dont think he plays similar characters in every movie. I felt his characters in Baby Boy, Transformers were different and I felt he also was good in Four Brothers and fine in Death Race. He should do non action/crime movies though

As far as him looking like Cage. Bale doesnt look like Bruce Wayne, MacGuire doesnt look like Peter Parker, Hugh Jackman doesnt look like Logan much besides the hair, other top choices for Cage like Terry Crews, Henry Simmons, Michael Jai White dont look exactly like Cage. Basically I'm saying as long as I can get reminded of the character look enough, then I dont need an exact copy from the comic book drawings. But if there is one great

Cage's appearance changes so much that one pic an actor looks like Cage the next second not.

I have to admit that I haven't seen him act in anything yet so I can not discredit him on that, but I will say that with those skwinty eyes he has in every photo that I've seen of him, he looks permanently stoned-out. Not really the look I would have liked to see on Cap America.

His eyes are no more squity then Chris Pine's IMO

I cant buy Chris Evans as Cap although I do like him as an actor. Yelchin would be good in the case that they follow Ultimate Avengers, but if they do Winter Soldier then Jamie Bell is my choice for Bucky

Biel as Gail Richards I just cant buy because she's so super model esque that I cant see her being a woman in the 1940s. I hope they go with Peggy Carter as the love interest anyways.

Kretschmann as Red Skull isnt bad, I wouldnt mind seeing him in the role. Mads Mikkelsen is still my top choice

I havent read The Ultimates or any ul;timate Cap at all( Ive only read Ultimte Spiderman which I love)

but damn!! Is that what Cap is like in the Ultimate Universe?

Well said. (somewhat) Similar physical traits aside, I would much rather they cast somebody who's actually good at acting.

All I can say is that ultimate Captain America is much more hardass and, sometimes, a bit of a jerkass (Him becoming a better person was SUPPOSED to be the aesop of "The Ultimates Vol. 2", before Jeph Loeb came in and undid everything )

Well said. (somewhat) Similar physical traits aside, I would much rather they cast somebody who's actually good at acting.

Well hes getting a cosign from my favorite African American director behind Spike Lee. So that also helps why hes my top choice besides the movies Ive seen him in

Yeah, he's kind of a jerk. 616 Cap would never say something like that regarding the French. Hell, in one of Brubaker's issues Cap made a point
to say how heroic and brave the French were back in WWII. I guess that was his little jab at Millar's Ultimate Cap.

Who the heck is Spike Lee suppose to be!!?? All his movie sux(except do the right thing) and Tyrese is a horrible actor. I'd rather get Ving Rhames play Cage and Ving is past his prime to play the character.................that's saying a lot.


Anyway, back to this thread............would anyone boycott the Cap movie if Tatum gets the part? I'm not fond of the choice but......he's not that bad of an actor.

Boycott? No. But I'd be so unbelievably pissed off and convinced that the film would be ruined for me. I can't stand the guy in any movie, and it's always the cast that is better than him. Plus, he looks like an Abercrombie-type, and not the 1930s All-American that Cap is (a type of look that actors like George Clooney, John Hamm, etc. have).

I don't know if I could really go through with boycotting a big budget Cap film. It is one of my most anticipated comic films. But if Tatum is cast in the title role, I will certainly want to boycott it. At the very least, I wouldn't go see it opening weekend.

Tatum is a decent actor in smaller films like Stop Loss, Coach Carter, and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints
but Hollywood keeps pushing him to do these big budget or corny mainstream movies where he cant act like GI Joe
I wouldnt want to see him as Cap

I must say that Cap's casting is the one that makes me most anxious in all the Marvel U. Being my favorite hero in all comics, I really hope they don't fudge this up. The thing is there's absolutely no one that is a clear cut above anyone else for me.

i still say i doubt tatum would be who marvel or joe would want for cap. i see someone like teddy spears, that guy from chuck(captain awsome guy), type of guys and not tatum.
