I thought Bale was incredible in this film again. He gets a lot of grief from some people because he doesn't portray 'their' idealistic Batman. For me, he is extremely close to what I would love to see and couldn't have asked for a better combo of Bruce/Batman.
The one scene which stood out for me (and I mentioned this in the Rachel Dawes thread) is when Batman opens the doors to find Harvey. For that split second you can see the reaction on Batman's face and how disappointed he is in a sense to only find Harvey instead of Rachel. It's like at that moment he knew he let her down. If you missed it in the film, I would recommend paying EXTREME attention at that point again. It happens for a split second and is just heartbreaking.

Bale is so good at this, my favourite moment in The Machinist is the look on his face and his voice when he starts sayin "I know who you are. I know who you are!"

And I thought my jokes were bad. Seriously, though. That's over and done. with. Try adding something useful to the thread.
