As most of you may know, Bale was set to play George W. Bush in the new film W. but he dropped out. I made this manip to show what he may have looked like with heavy prosthetics. hehe.

Looks more like Bush than Brolin I'd say. Brolin did a great job though.

Haha looking back at this, it is one of the creepiest looking things I've ever made.:woot:

Oliver Stone said it himself. They'd gone as far as make-up tests, until Bale got cold feet about it all.

Really makes you wonder how he would have pulled it off, though I'm really doubting he would've looked as creepy as that manip.

Yea that looks more like a weird George Bush rather than Bale as George Bush.

kinda like will forte and richard jenkins had a baby :oldrazz:

OMG, MY EYES!!! CHANGE THE SUBJECT!!!

Ya know, seeing all this Oscar-buzz for the movie and Heath, makes me wonder if Nolan will consider pulling Bruce into another direction that would deem the character and Bale Oscar-worthy. It'd be interesting, especially if they give Bruce TDKR's Batman's mentality.

Andre@'s is back with more awesome shots of Bale both as Billionaire playboy : Bruce Wayne & The Dark Knight : BATMAN .

enjoy

You know what the best part about Christian Bale's acting is? His eyes. He can tell an entire story with his eyes.

Just by looking at his face and his eyes you can see EXACTLY what's going on with his character with the 3 personalities of Bruce, you can see WHICH personality he puts on right in his face.

Heath had his charisma and went all out to play the Joker but Bale's eyes really did channel Bruce Wayne. Looking at them, even in Begins, ir's really cool.

That's another thing I really don't like about the TDK cowl, it doesn't seem like you get a good look at his eyes when he has it on while in Begins the cowl made his eyes pop out and he looked menacing. But then again, I've only been able to see youtube Bootlegs of TDK recently so maybe when I get it on DVD, I'll change my mind on that.

Na you are right, the eye holes in the TDK cowl seem smaller. It makes his eyes seem beady. I still prefer the cowl from BB but the TDK suit has definitely grown on me.

I prefer the BB cowl, hell the whole BB suit overall to the TDK one. At least we got a couple of scenes with the old suit in TDK (Especially my favorite action sequence of the film, where he finally gets ol' Scarecrow) :hehe:

If they just changed that V link thing on his chest....!

I like that about the TDK cowl though. He felt even more mysterious do to barely seeing his eyes, but when you do see his eyes and what's going on in them (Favorite examples of that is interrogation scene and scene with Fox), it's amazing.

I liked the scene at the end.
Harvey: Why was I the one who lost everything?!?!

Batman:........You wasn't

You could see the pain and desperation on his face there perfectly. Still prefer the BB cowl though.

Same here The Chris, I actually love the TDK cowl for that reason as well. I like the fact you could barely see his eyes in certain scenes depending on the lighting.

Christian does have very expressive eyes.

The cowl from TDK is a lot slimmer than the Begins so it has to have smaller eye holes. But i dont think that not seeing bale's eyes was down to the cowl, but mostly down to Nolan barely lighting the sets this time. When Dent is interrogating Schiff or at the end at the warehouse, there is hardly any light.
Anyway, I prefer the TDK cowl.

Eh, when he gets really pissed off and all you can see is his mouth working it, it doesn't look that good to me and the mystery is lost. What made him freaking SCARY in BB is when you saw his scowl with those badass eyes making the face. When he was interrorgating Maroni or facing down the Joker, they should have shown his eyes.

God I love that scene there. Perfect example of Bale's eyes.

I saw his eyes in those scenes, for me his eyes made those scenes. Especially that look on his face when Maroni's telling him that basically the fear is gone.

During the Maroni scene, you are exactly right... his eyes definitley made that scene. During the interrorgation scene, I watched it on youtube recently, I got a good look at his eyes when he held the Joker up by the wall and I did see his animalistic pissed off fury there.

Nolan REALLY needs to concentrate on Bale's eyes when he is in that suit. BEST Bale Batman moments are in Begins when he's holding flass upside down and when he crashes into that train and stares Ra's Al Ghul dead in the eye and puts that scowl on.

It's all in Bale's eyes... and THAT is why he is such an awesome Batman.

I especially agree with that last part. The man is awesome. All that talk about his voice (which I love), and I would defend that and then also tell people, pay attention to his eyes please, it's not just a blank stare, there's a lot going on in them, that alone makes him the best batman in my opinion.
