The Cloverfield Paradox

John Krasinski Joins J.J. Abrams' "God"

By Garth Franklin Tuesday April 12th 2016 12:46PM
John Krasinski ("13 Hours," "The Office") is in early talks to co-star with David Oyelowo and Gugu Mbatha-Raw in the J.J. Abrams-produced sci-fi thriller "God Particle" for Bad Robot.
Julius Onah is directing the long-in-development project which takes place in the near future. It centers on a team of astronauts who make a terrifying discovery that challenges everything they know about the fabric of reality.
Krasinski would play one of the astronauts desperately fighting for survival. Filming begins in the next few months ahead of a February 24th 2017 release.

Bad Robot’s God Particle Recruits Elizabeth Debicki

According to Variety, Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot‘s feature God Particle, an original micro-budgeted science fiction tale, has cast actress Elizabeth Debicki (“The Night Manager,” The Man From U.N.C.L.E.), joining the already-cast David Oyelowo (Selma, Interstellar), John Krasinski (13 Hours, “The Office”) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Concussion, Beyond the Lights). However, the article also states that Krasinski’s casting may be in doubt, possibly due to his signing on to portray Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan in a new series from Amazon.

The plot of God Particle is said to revolve around an American space station that, after an accident with a particle accelerator, suddenly finds that Earth has vanished altogether. Things get stranger when they then they pick up traces of another space station nearby. Some rumors say this may be the next “spiritual successor” to Cloverfield after 10 Cloverfield Lane, but whether it turns out to be called “Cloverfield Particle” or remain an unbranded, unique story is yet to be seen.
In physics, the “God Particle” is a nickname given to the hypothetical Higgs boson, a particle upon which much of our understanding of quantum physics is based. The world’s largest particle accelerator, the Large Hadron Collider, was built in Geneva, Switzerland in an attempt to prove the Higgs boson’s existence.
God Particle will be directed by Julius Onah (The Girl is in Trouble). Originally scripted by Freaks of Nature and 22 Jump Street scribe Oren Uziel, the project was since rewritten by Star Beyond‘s Doug Jung. The film is set for a February 24, 2017 release.

Daniel Bruhl Joins Abrams' "God Particle"

By Garth Franklin Wednesday May 11th 2016 08:23AM
"Captain America: Civil War" villain Daniel Bruhl is in final negotiations to join the cast of the Julius Onah-directed, J.J. Abrams-produced sci-fi thriller "The God Particle" at Paramount Pictures.
David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, John Krasinski and Elizabeth Debicki have already signed on to play crewmembers aboard a space station who find themselves alone after a scientific experiment causes Earth to disappear.
When a space shuttle appears, the space station crew must determine if they are friend or foe. Bruhl will also be part of the team. Production is slated to begin shortly.

Obligatory "stop calling it the God Particle" post.

(The movie sounds great btw).

Didn't see the Bruhl announcement. Someone get him the damn mission report!

I hope they push back the film's release date by a month, to give them time during post.

Because people think it's church related when it's got nothing to do with religion and theology.

Cool they got ziyi Zhang though!

But it will tell us the sucrets of the universe! :o

Per The Wrap, the upcoming sci-fi thriller God Particle is the next movie “connected to” Cloverfield, with the report noting that Abrams and Paramount (and presumably Bad Robot) are also quietly developing even more movies for the shared Cloverfield universe. The hope, per The Wrap’s report, is that they’re able to release a new film in the shared Cloverfield universe each year.

would love if this somehow had a legitimate story connection to the 2008 film, which I have waited 8 years for, but probably not.

Dammit. They already kneecapped the otherwise great 10 Cloverfield Lane with that nonsense. Hope they didn't do the same with this

Awesome love both Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane. Can't wait to hear and see more about this.

We may get a trailer tomorrow. Paramount is holding a conference for their slate of movies coming out next year. Keep in mind, we MAY not get anything, but at least maybe a description of some footage.

Love how secretive these projects are, and if the film ends up being as great as 10 Cloverfield Lane, I'm all for it. The cast itself is bolstered significantly from 10 Cloverfield Lane, so I'm wondering if it's a bit of a bigger film. (Nothing against Goodman, MEW and Gallagher, they were all great)

I'm excited. I like the idea of it all taking place in the same universe. They are still going to be individual stories so who cares?

people who because of marvel are obsessed with connected movies like MCU and now DC? with cameos every 3 months?
