    If it's gets made, nice.

But I'll believe it when I see it.

I’m more ambivalent about it than anything. But between the tragic circumstances of the original, the diminishing returns of the sequels and the “Sisyphus pushing the rock up the hill” nature of getting this reboot off the ground, I just have to ask… Why? And will it be worth it?

Or have they just spent an inordinate amount of time and money developing The Crow’s answer to Kinnaman’s RoboCop?

Sure maybe it'll be fine. Sanders is a good enough visual director. It'll be hard to top Proyas' vision.

The Batman gives me a lot of hope in this reboot.

    *Was.

I’m willing to forgive one bad misstep but Proyas made Knowing AND Gods of Egypt. As much as I love The Crow and Dark City, it’s hard to let those movies slide.

I take back giving it a chance if that's who's at the helm.

No, Proyas is the director of the original, not this reboot. Not sure what happened to him after he made Dark City. I’ve heard I,Robot was pretty good (not sure why I never saw it) but Knowing and Gods of Egypt are two of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.

Wow, the genius behind that beautiful, gothic tale gave us..... Gods of Egypt?

What the hell happened to him I wonder.

Yeah, it’s messed up. He hasn’t made a lot of films in general… maybe he only got bad offers? I’m not sure.

I get people being frustrated at others being apprehensive about a Crow reboot, but I feel like people forget that some movies, comic adapations or not, leave a lasting impact on others and the circumstances surrounding the original films production is infamous at this point. Brandon Lees tragic end combined with his amazing performance in the movie has taken on a life of its own. Lee is Eric Draven. His presence lingers over that movie like a ghost, and to have a reboot come along is always gonna feel odd. I'll try to give it a chance though.

Knowing is great (Roger Ebert wrote a good review of it and then a follow up piece) and Gods of Egypt is a fun, imaginative Jack Kirby esque piece of adventure.

It's a compliment! In the movie, the Earth is flat and Geoffrey Rush must cast out a giant space worm from eating the planet every so often. That's the kind of mad creativity I wish we saw more of. It's a fun, solid movie.

For all the talk there’s been about the director, it does feel worth mentioning that Skarsgard is a pretty good choice for Draven.

Its definitely closer to his aesthetic than The Eternals.
