The Cure for the cure?

That defeats the point of the movie. I really believe it has to do with the character of Magneto and not the cure. he would never give up... NEVER. That's the point.

Lots of things at the end defeats parts of movies. It wasn't so much the cure as the idea of it made Magneto and other mutants flip out. humans still tried to cure mutants. The point it made still stands even if it is temporary.

1. Hmm didn't you hear?? Parts can be *GASP*...recasted. And Jackman isn't certainly not returning...he just isn't contracted for X4.

2. It doesn't relate to the cure. I was speaking about how people are saying X4 won't happen yet that was a huge thing left open.

You could rescast, but you could also drive a car with your feet if you wanted to. It's too hard to cast a character of that caliber when the orginal (Hugh) was very popular and great in the role... That's when comic movies become hokey. Butr, uou're right, Hugh hasn't said no, but it is my opinon that he won't return and ASSUMING my opinion is correct, I don't think X4 will happpen without him. I understand what you're saying, but I don't think it's logical possibility. Hey, if we can get Hugh, Ian, Patrick, etc... back and a real pre-production with a credible director then I'm all for X4.

Bring back Mystique and Magneto together after their cure wears off...interesting stuff there.

Let Rogue be normal for a while but the cure wears off and she finally has to accept who she is.

Angel's father dies but not before he accepts Warren for who is and leaves him his empire...in which he helps fund Xavier's school.

Storm becoming the head of the school as Xavier told her.

Have Trask become the Trask we know from the comics and get some REAL ****ing Sentinels in there.

And I think this arc should involve Apocalypse.

I defenitly think X-4 will involve sinister. He would bring back Cyclops in some way and bring in Havok because he needs them to awaken Apocolypse

I really hatwe he idea that the cure "wears off." It's tested and proven. Magneto comes back, no one else. It's to comic booky (which is fine with me, but....) for an audience to believe. We already had jean come back and now Xaiver in a new form.

Agreed. I wish Penn/Kinberg had Trask being sneaky with underhanded motives. That would of helped that storyline.

I think apoc is to hard to explain in one film. I think he needs a whole trilogy (like the phoenix).

I should have said that I didn't mean have on film for Apocalypse. I have always said he needs his own three movies.

You obviously don't know the audience very well. It's tested and proven? they weren't testing it for months at a time. it wore off on magneto first because he's stronger. They came back from the dead. The cure not being permanent is quite different.

If it was to show how strong mahneto is. then it would have been clearer. But it was there to show that the cure itself can't suppress the mutant gene for long,. It goes into remission like lukemia but can come back just as easily over time. Like a disease. which is an intersting angle.

i have to respectfully disagree. magneto is a strong-willed character, but it would take more than just will-power to return yourself to 'normal', or in his case, restore his mutation. if all it took was will-power, no one would be blind, deaf, have cancer or have aids. they'd just 'will' it away.

i like the idea of a temporary cure. if mystique got her powers back, i don't think she'd be too happy with magneto. she may not try to retalliate, but i wouldn't want to see her just side back with him. and if rogue's powers crept up on her, she'd probably be heartbroken. i'd like to see a mystique/rogue relationship develop in (if there is an) x4. rogue leaves the mansion, a solo mystique takes her under her wing.....and we pretty much know where it would go from there.

F Apoc..have Sinster as the lead villain for X-4..im not a great person when it comes to these ideas but I guess at the end if they would do an X-5 (way into the future ) you could have Magneto come back at the end of something or Apoc being hinted thoughout X-4 and then X-5 is the Apoc stuff. A lot can happen in these movies too..Cykes/Jean/Professor could all return too. Im sure they could do a lot of good things and not play it out.

Good points, I just hate the idea that the cure wasn't perfect. The emotion of who and why people are cured goes out the window. Mystique protecting her friend, Rouge to have quality of life, and Mags being forced to give his power up. When I saw him cured I thought of the scene in X2 where he is reading "The once and future King." And then I thought of that scene again as he moved the chess piece. That was one connection Kinberg and Penn made (maybe it wasn't intentional, but thats how I saw it) I loved!

I have an idea... Have Sinister/Dr. Essex make an antidote. Mutants can restore their power (and maybe Mags makes a deal to help him if he turns him back), but the catch-22 is it's the Legacy Virus... Solves the cure problem, and creates a new storyline derived from X3...

Well I don't see how it ruins the movie because no one knows that the cure isn't just for some time and then you get the powers back. All but Magneto.

i agree! also back to the whole cure thing i beleive that mags is just starting to get his power back because he is a strong mutant hes class 3 or above rite? Also if 4 needles didnt cure him then i think everyone will eventually get their powers back maybe for those who want it, it will be like a vaccine where you have to go evry now and again to get re injected. leeches powers only work temporarily so i think it will be the same for the cure. Also heres a thought maybe the cure makes their powers more powerful, think of it rogue comes within a few metres of people and she starts to absorb their energy, mystique can turn into anything maybe microscopic bacteria. maybe even when rogue touches someone they explode! this is just a thought tho.
