The Curse of Chucky

suppose to take place after the 3rd film and it disregards Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky

How do you suppose Chucky comes back from getting torn to shreds in part 3 if it disregards the whole Frankenchucky rebirth in Bride Of Chucky?

MAYBE just maybe.......a character in the film brought him to life for their own alterior motive?? It would be sick if by the end of the film they realize their big mistake and that Chucky cannot be contained?

Gosh I'm so excited! We haven't even see any of the death scenes yet! And it's rated R for bloody violence and language.

I grew up on Chucky...That doll could never go down!. I loved the part in the second film where he is cursing and dragging whatever is left of his body

I was kidding lol. I like Bride but no, they were not the best in the series

To me they are:woot: I love the first two. The first one is mostly truly creepy and a fun mystery with strong characters. The second is a faster paced and meaner, with more of an action vibe. It's the "Aliens" of the Chucky franchise. The third isn't fun enough nor FUNNY enough really. It's just kind of there. Bride of Chucky is slick, well shot, has two likable leads (a pre "everyone hates her" Katherine Heigl) and two awesome killer dolls. It's gory, fast paced and funny. Seed of Chucky is pure OTT, tongue in cheek satire and I love it for that. It's not meant to be serious or scary, just a fun farce. It just seems (not trying to be snarky) that some people simply don't get that. They just call it stupid and leave it at that. I'm not saying you don't understand the point of the film, but a lot of the criticisms I hear about it never really say why it's stupid. Just that it is.

i'm surprised for the hate for tiff. yeah glen i can understand i enjoyed seed but wasnt a huge fan

but really the addition of tiff really add to the whole character and was a great idea

Looks alright for a straight to DVD then again so did Lost Boys 2 and we all know how that turned out.

Awesome.

I'd be willing to get it if it were cheaper.

but the first CP movie is the only one that was not done by Universal (or it's subsidiaries), the first film was done by MGM/UA as far as I know that was why they only released collectors sets of all the films from 2 up to date.

The film is the first in the Child's Play film series and was the only film in the series released by MGM/UA, as the rights to the series were sold to Universal in 1990, right before production started on Child's Play 2.

So unless MGM gave universal the film rights to the first film, I dunno how they got all of the films including part 1 in that box set. Then, again all of the Terminator films are done by different studios but I saw a set that had T1, T2, T3, and Salvation in one box set last year, so anything is possible if enough $$$ is thrown around. I may have to get this set if I can get a deal on it, the CP films are a guilty pleasure of mine, I only have the 20th Anniversary Edition of the first film on DVD and that is it.

Well that's why a Child's Play remake has been in development hell for the past few years. MGM finally gave Universal the rights to the first film.

A lot of crazy theories going around about this film and why Chucky may look different to some people........

I'm reading online that Chucky's look starts changing into the people he's killing. That last shot of the woman looking frightened and sticking her finger in his mouth is the clearest example. If you look closely, both the woman and Chucky have the same look on their face and Chucky has eye makeup and lipstick that resembles the woman's.

Perhaps this is his "curse" in the film and the new reason he has to get the **** out of that body?? MAYBE he also suffers the same injuries as his victims and that might example why he gets all cut up and scarred in the film? Like he bites off that woman's finger and so he looses his finger.......

Essential, Chucky is a living breathing Voodoo Doll but his own murderous actions are backfiring on him so he needs to get the hell out of that body.

Again, that's just an idea I'm hearing thrown around on a few sites. Thoughts???

OMFG, there is no CGI. You people are LITERALLY seeing things. Sorry for being harsh, but the CGI is simply not there. AT. ALL.

The only shot that was maybe CGI was that quick full body shot of Chucky running at someone. But all of the facial stuff was clearly, obviously real.

Fiona Dourif confirmed on Twitter yesterday that Chucky is NOT CGI. She said there are a couple of moments of fill in, but that's it.

Danielle Bisutti, also in the movie, tweeted : "We most DEFINITELY worked with the REAL LIFE DOLL and let me tell you: Chucky is a MAJOR DIVA!"

SO THERE :P

In the first movie he starts off as a 100% doll, then gradually starts changing because the doll body is turning human (a deformed human version of himself). I'm assuming the same happens in this one. There is no "curse" it's just a title (unless you count the fact that he's cursed to stay inside the doll).

Meh I already have the special edition of 1 and have the rest on DVD. So curse is all that's missing

It's a shame they didn't go out and even add some decent features to 2 and 3

Yeah, that's disappointing, especially considering CP2 is my favorite film of the bunch.

I'd be willing to get it if it were cheaper.

When it comes to blu ray everything drops within six months to a year. I'm betting this set will be 20.00 around this time next year. The NOES collection went from 60 to 50 and now it's about 35 to 40.
