The Curse of Chucky

It's within the same continuity of the original films, don't know where it takes place though. Apparently there is a twist or something that directly involves the first film.

Am I the only one that didn't notice any CG? The face looks a little weird in some shots but I didn't notice any CGI.

I'm assuming that the facial movements are the work of CGI and not physical puppeteers this time. Someone correct me if I'm wrong because that **** looks like CGI to me.

I remember when people delusionally were fooled by the obvious CGI Ted at the Oscars.

EDIT: Some of it might be puppeteering but some of it definitely looks like CGI to me. Maybe I'm just being an old foogey purist and should just accept it.

lol, I had a double take with Ted at the Oscars, I eventually figured it out but for the first couple minutes I thought it was real.

I never even bothered with Seed of Chucky, I mean Bride of Chucky was bad and unfunny enough.

The first two Child's Play movies are the only ones I can still watch to this day and enjoy, even the third film was laughable to me as a kid and the Bride/Seed films I only watched once.

The third one is alright, actually like Bride more, but CP1 and 2 are the best this series has ever gotten. I love CP2, it's my favorite.

I think Bride is better than ppl make it out to be its not that bad. I think it's better than 3 maybe it's just me.

I just hope this movie bring on some awesome dolls to buy I really really need one bad.

Someone on twitter asked Brad Miska from Bloody Disgusting (he's already seen the movie and said it was awesome) if Chucky is CGI and he said he couldn't tell. He said there's a lot of puppet work being done and whatever it is it looks great.

I honestly think all the CGI that ppl are complaining about might actually be from all the trailer FX like flashes of whiteout and all that. Alterian (who created the doll) posted photos of the dolls and it being animatronic (there's actually a guy controlling the whole body).

And if you look at that screen cap of Chucky in the previous page, his eyes are identical to Brad Dourif's. So I'm assuming his looking will shift throughout the film as he turns more human.

Something crazy I noticed
If you look at some of the really quick cuts of Chucky, he has a scar here and there. I'm thinking he'll get cut up and scarred a lot and this could very well lead right into Bride!

I saw the first three a few months back. Thought they were really bad. Bad, but funny bad. Can't wait for this one, I just hope I find it as funny.

I'll watch anything Chucky (except Seed) so I'm really excited for this.

I think I rank my favorite horror killers like this

Chucky > Myers > Hannibal > Leatherface > Jason > everyone else

Edit: Havent seen any Freddy movies yet. I know, Im going to hell :o

whatever happened to that Chucky vs Leprechaun movie?

that would have been hilarious to watch

For a second, I thought the guy that said "It's a doll, what's the worst that can happen?" was Mark Ruffalo... I was about to be like "Umm... what are you doing with your career, brah?" :funny:

So did I. :hehe:

Chucky is the best slasher after Freddy. I love the little bastard.

Bride and Seed are hilarious. Can't believe people take them so seriously.

And I didn't notice any CGI. What the hell is everyone going on about?

If there's zero CG in any of those shots then that's just jarringly-s****y character-design work, especially considering that's in the same continuity. What exactly was wrong with the usual Chucky design?

I get that the design is tweaked each time a film comes out (be it to accommodate advances in animatronics or artistic tinkering/plot continuity) but most of those differences are subtle. The "big" changes - scars, receding hair - have never really changed the core "look" of Chucky.

This new face and the way it's animated is such a clear departure on first glance that it's probably contributing to the "bad CG" argument. Perhaps it's explained (or we're just meant to assume) that it's simply a new Good Guy doll design (be nice if it was even poking fun at the needless updating of things to sell more s**t, though I doubt it) but w/o having seen the fiilm yet it just seems... off.

I don't agree at all that Chucky isn't scary, I think he is very scary in the first film and I love the first film. I will defend ChildsPlay to the bloody end. Chucky is only second to Freddy in my humble opinion. Jason isn't scary at all, is a boring villain and his movies suck and I like Michael Myers and the first Halloween but he isn't scary, scary to me either. I guess I just like my horror icons to have a personality. Sue Me.

I know this movie is going to suck but I have to see it.

suppose to take place after the 3rd film and it disregards Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky

Yeah, this one acts as if Bride and Seed never happened.
