Since we don't have one, a thread for more random things and general talking since this place is going to get pretty busy soon or for just slow news days.....Basically, even we can't derail a thread that has no specific topic.....there's one of these on the X-Boards that's pretty cool for all fans to discuss. Check [thread=228643]Here[/thread]

I'm pretty bored, I read this and found it kinda interesting as far as inspiration for Wolverine on X1.

Hugh Jackman

UGO: Did you miss working with Bryan Singer?

HUGH: Of course he was missed. I think that he needs to be given great credit for what he created. Brett smartly didn't try to reinvent the wheel. I would say that most people who see the film are not going to see a huge difference like they did with, say, Harry Potter. I think that it's going to be a fairly seamless transition. But Bryan had a little bit of a choice. I remember him directing me on X-Men 1. He yelling out, "It's just like that moment when Superman rips off the car door and pulls Lois Lane out and he goes around the earth." I said, "Bryan. I haven't seen Superman since I was 12. You can't give me that direction." So he shut down filming and took me to his trailer and showed me the scene. He said that he sees that film 20 times a year and I knew that directing Superman Returns was a chance that he couldn't pass up. I think that in his heart of hearts he hoped both would happen, but of course he was missed. Brett stepped in with what I think was the clearest and possibly the best script we had.

Oh yeah, here' something that happened to me a little over a month ago....I actually ran into Bryan Singer outside of the Burbank WB Studios.

Lets get SR artists/manippers discuss their work....People to discuss what they'll do for opening day June 30th...etc etc.

Maybe we could get IT Is Batgirl to tell us how is was to meet Brandon...things like that. ;)

Randomness:

What do you guys think about Jon Favreau doing Iron Man? It's a movie I've been waiting to see for years. Was hoping for a more established name to direct though.

So this is going to be a mini newspaper inside of the forum? It's great to hear that Singer watches Superman the Movie 20 times a year. But I still remember the time he stated that he hadn't ever read a Superman comic. But WB's probably had him go over a few by now. I still don't agree with his design choices and big changes that he's made however. I just watched Seinfeld and the entire episode was full of Superman references. Sometimes I think Jerry Seinfeld should be the next Superman director. That guy is a real Superman nut.

Just because you a fan doesn't make you the right man for the job.

look at worlds finest and Batman dead end...very good for what they are.. sandy collera is a massive fan of both charctors..but he isn't right for either project.

Sandy Colleras got the Heart and the Eye for it, he just lacks the creative direction.

he was the first guy that popped into my head..the problem with being a massive fan is trying to do everything exactly like the comic..doesn't always make a good look or a good picture.. sorry film.

And the money and support. I'm sure that with better budgets, he could hire some better actors. We haven't really ever seen a real script from Collera. Just a bunch of action shots strung together. That's the problem trying to translate faithfully for comic readers to the big screen because you'll assume that the prevalent portion of comics - the images (the money shot) is what you need to put onto the screen to make it attractive when you don't have to and you can let the story sell itself.

I like that Collera had the balls to do Batman as he should be, in a simple cloth costume (no stupid full body armor) with just his fighting skills and few choice weapons.

The Worlds Finest characters in costume looked great, I'll give some of you that, but showed that Clark Kent looking like a NFL Linebacker dressed as a Nerd doesn't. Superman doesn't need to be buff, if anything, WF drove that point home, thats why Brandon's build isn't that big of an issue to me.

Superman doesn't need to work out, so theres really no reason he needs to look like A 'roided up Gorilla.

Superman is supposed to blend into the populus as Clark Kent....

The pornstar guy from WF didnt, he looked like an obvious freak. It didnt make it believeable.

Brandon pulls it off in a realistic way.

Sandy Collara should stick to his fan films, it doesn't matter if he was given a better script.

i don't know if you're aware of this, in the comics Batman's costume is armor, not cloth. it's a comic book. it just looks like cloth.

After the credits they show a close up of Wolverines claws, he brings them to his face and then thrusts them forward in a rapid motion.

They smash into smithereens on a \S/ logo, then the camera pans up and Superman is smirking.

It's quite a thing.
