It's the daily planet......as its thread starter, I say Spiderman and many other topics are okay.

HERE!HERE!

Justin Timberlake found himself dwarfed on the carpet by new Superman Brandon Routh, whose movie opens June 28. "I didn't know he was that tall; he does look super," said Timberlake, who, like many, was struck by the 6'3" Superman Returns star's uncanny resemblance to the late Christopher Reeve. "He's got (guts) doing that movie. Superman is such a well-loved franchise, but I was always more a Batman kind of kid
Routh came with girlfriend Courtney Ford, who said, "Brandon was a bartender when I met him 2½ years ago, but he's always been Superman to me."

Superhero films had a big presence at the awards. When the cast of Superman Returns (Routh, Spacey and Kate Bosworth) presented the Best Hero Award to Batman Begins star Christian Bale, he turned to Routh and said, "Sorry Superman, but Batman is the bad (one)." Bale also promised fans there will be more Batman films and called his wife, Sibi Blazic, "my personal Wonder Woman."

In just two weeks, “Superman Returns” with a bang.

But in the meantime, Access Hollywood's Billy Bush sat down with new man in tights, his beloved Lois Lane and his arch nemesis Lex Luthor – and the conversation quickly got way off track as we put Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth and Kevin Spacey to the test with our “Superman” quiz.

“Out of the three of you, who looks the best in tights?” Billy asked.

“Don’t be shy,” Kevin laughed, immediately hitting Kate's buzzer for her.

And while Kevin may be correct, it's Brandon, not Kate, donning the tights in the film. Kevin told us he remembers the first day he saw Brandon suit up as the Man of Steel.

“He came out of the Daily Planet building and I went ‘Oh [bleep].’ Oh wait, I can't say that,” Spacey laughed. “I said ‘Oh man. That’s Superman. He [bleep] looks the part.”

“Ha, you said it again,” Kate laughed at Kevin’s indiscretion.

And not only does Brandon look the part, but he aced our quiz.

“There are many forms of Kryptonite – green, red, gold. But which one makes Superman randy?” Billy asked.

“Red,” Brandon quickly said hitting his buzzer. “Because it lowers his inhibitions.”

Indeed, he was correct.

In fact, you could almost say that Brandon was destined to play the part as evidenced by a photo we found from a 2003 Halloween party where Brandon won the prize for best dressed for his Clark Kent-Superman costume.

“That’s pretty amazing actually,” Kate said looking at the photo. “There’s a lot of things we don’t know about you.”

Well Kate and Kevin were about to find out a lot more about their co-star.

Billy, the next question please.

“In Christina Aguilera's 1999 video ‘What A Girl Wants,’ what was it that she actually wanted?” Billy asked the “Super” trio.

Quickly, Kevin buzzed in.

“To get [bleep],” he said, drawing a laugh from his co-stars.

But why a Christina question during a “Superman” interview?

“Brandon, you were in that video. Maybe you can help us explain it a little bit,” Billy grinned.

“What?!?” Kate replied.

“That’s why they mentioned it,” Brandon smiled. “My elbows and my hands are, for like a split second, in that video.”

He’s not kidding. It would take some super vision to catch his quick cameo, but he is indeed in the video.

“I can't believe we didn't know this,” Kate gushed.

“Well, she definitely wanted to find a boyfriend or something in the video,” Brandon said, answering the original question.

“So I was right,” Kevin added. “She wanted to get [bleep].”

Catch Kevin, Brandon and Kate when “Superman Returns” hits theaters on June 28.

Singer in pilot deal with ABC

Bryan Singer

By Nellie Andreeva

Bryan Singer has inked a rich, three-for-one deal with ABC.

Under the seven-figure pact, Singer, the director of such blockbusters as "X-Men," "X2: X-Men United" and most recently "Superman Returns," will develop three scripts for the network, one of which is guaranteed to go to pilot.

Singer, who will develop the projects through his company Bad Hat Harry Prods., will executive produce and direct the pilot.

This is the first formal television deal for Singer, who spearheaded the early development of Sci Fi Channel's critically praised series "Battlestar Galactica," executive produced the channel's miniseries "The Triangle" and directed and executive produced the pilot for Fox's medical drama "House."

Singer is an executive producer on "House," which has emerged as a blockbuster hit for Fox and recently landed a best drama series Emmy nomination.

It was during the casting of the pilot for "House" that Singer became drawn to the immediacy and longevity of the TV series business. He realized back then that he was not just assembling a cast for a 15-day shoot but also an acting ensemble that could become a staple on TV for years to come.

"You put something together in a quick time frame and get to create something that could have a long-lasting effect," Singer said.

What's more, "television has an organic quality to it," he said. "Movies are pretty set. TV shows are open-ended, they can evolve over time."

What sets Singer's deal with ABC apart from other high-profile, three-for-one pacts is that it is not tied to a studio. This gives Singer the flexibility to develop with writers at any studio.

This was the decisive factor in setting up the deal at ABC, Singer said.

"I like the freedom," he said, adding, "and ABC is a good network."

In his development, Singer is open to all genres, including comedy. Bad Hat Harry's head of production, Alex Garcia, will oversee the development process for the company.

The three-for-one formula has worked well for big-name feature directors venturing into television. This past development season, CBS inked such a deal with "National Treasure" director Jon Turteltaub. The pilot that came out of it, "Jericho," landed on CBS' fall schedule. Ridley and Tony Scott's similar arrangement at CBS resulted in the successful crime drama "Numbers," which is going into a third season in the fall.

Singer has been busy on the feature side. The director is in Tokyo wrapping up the global promotional tour for "Superman Returns." He also is in talks for a sequel to the film, which revived the "Superman" franchise after a 19-year hiatus.

Singer, whose feature credits also include the critically acclaimed "The Usual Suspects," is repped by WMA and attorney David Feldman of Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal & LaViolette.
