Superman Returns The Daily Planet

After the credits they show a close up of Wolverines claws, he brings them to his face and then thrusts them forward in a rapid motion.

They smash into smithereens on a \S/ logo, then the camera pans up and Superman is smirking.

It's quite a thing.

LOL!!

you kill me showey.

PLEASE no spoilers in here for X3....or at least use tags.

Yes..but it touches on things that could have made the story better..in my opinion.. X3 misses singers influence,

I had a feeling that would happen sooner or later.

Since we don't have one, a thread for more random things and general talking since this place is going to get pretty busy soon or for just slow news days.....Basically, even we can't derail a thread that has no specific topic.....there's one of these on the X-Boards that's pretty cool for all fans to discuss. Check [thread=228643]Here[/thread]

I'm pretty bored, I read this and found it kinda interesting as far as inspiration for Wolverine on X1.

Hugh Jackman

UGO: Did you miss working with Bryan Singer?

HUGH: Of course he was missed. I think that he needs to be given great credit for what he created. Brett smartly didn't try to reinvent the wheel. I would say that most people who see the film are not going to see a huge difference like they did with, say, Harry Potter. I think that it's going to be a fairly seamless transition. But Bryan had a little bit of a choice. I remember him directing me on X-Men 1. He yelling out, "It's just like that moment when Superman rips off the car door and pulls Lois Lane out and he goes around the earth." I said, "Bryan. I haven't seen Superman since I was 12. You can't give me that direction." So he shut down filming and took me to his trailer and showed me the scene. He said that he sees that film 20 times a year and I knew that directing Superman Returns was a chance that he couldn't pass up. I think that in his heart of hearts he hoped both would happen, but of course he was missed. Brett stepped in with what I think was the clearest and possibly the best script we had.

Oh yeah, here' something that happened to me a little over a month ago....I actually ran into Bryan Singer outside of the Burbank WB Studios.

Now I understand why Singer thinks the Donner film is the end all be all of Superman..........

I know..but i will not ruin it for people.. you have to see the movie to understand.

trust me.

Good call

Nice idea Pickle-El.

Saw X3 yesterday, although I don't think it was great I didn't think it was bad, I still hope it does well though.
As I've stated over at the X-Forums...I don't blame Ratner, if the blame is to fall anywhere it should be on the producers, sacrificing the movie's best potential all so they could try and beat Singer and Superman Returns. :down

X3 just set a 1 day record.....44 Mill. Higher than both Spiderman movies and Potter.

Discuss.

A big one day/weekend total was exspected, but let's see it's legs and overall X-fan reaction.

Hell, I remember when Batman and Robin cames out it opened huge, but I had friends and co-workers calling me screaming "Do not waste your money! It was Horrible!!!" But it still had a huge opening.

I dunno, Im curious to see it, and I've heard alot of divided reactions to it. I've never been a huge X-men comic fan, but I liked Singers last two films, but I think Brett ratner is an average director.

I dont know what Im going to do...

as i mentioned in the X-boards, impre$$ive number$, now lets just see if this films got legs.

Well I seen X3 today and I thought it was a really good movie....The SR Trailer wasn't the newest one..it was the one where Jason says to Lex.."You're Bald"..it was cool seeing it on the big screen finally.

Theres a big fan backlash on AICN right now, apparently the movie wasn't that horrible in most peoples eyes, and they are calling Harry out for it.

Superman is supposed to blend into the populus as Clark Kent....

The pornstar guy from WF didnt, he looked like an obvious freak. It didnt make it believeable.

Brandon pulls it off in a realistic way.

That "pornstar guy freak" is Mike O'Hearn, a very popular fitness model and 100% natural body builder.

I'm very happy with Brandon's build. I see no real reason to have a bodybuilder play the role. But mike is not freakish big. what's with the pornstar quip ? Upset that you don't look this good? ;)

It is very hard to hide bodybuilders over six feet tall in suits, though . . . they stand out no matter what you do. Clark'd have to wear that trenchcoat all the time to hide, or take up bodybuilding as a "hobby" and let everyone know he was doing it so no one would think anything of his size.

44 million is incredible for x3.though i still think superman will win in totla, it wil not get that much opening day.

that said,i thought x3 was not very good. action was sweet, but totally lacked a good story and good characters.

Kane just always says that. He can't mention WF without inserting the word "pornstar" into his posts. It's bloody hypocritical and also insulting to a great fan film.

Have there been official press screenings of the film yet? I've been seeing reviews in various places, but I'm not sure what the critics have been reviewing. The film? The script? General thoughts lobbed into the ether? Exactly what have film critics seen, if anything? Anybody know?

Here's one of those "reviews":

well, i remember it being promoted at the Cannes Film Festival. not quite sure what the reviews were (since i never cared for critic reviews :p)
