One of the round has 'DC' as a theme.

I've been wanting to do something with Robin for a while, but since the DC theme was so open ended, I wanted to put some kind of twist on it.

I thought it might be fun to do an Emo version of the character...

i like it. it's definitely a very different take on the character. and kinda has me thinking of possibly this could be what Robin is like in the BATMAN AND ROBIN monthly that's going to be coming out.

I hope there won't be any incarnation of the character this mopey, but what do I know?

So, sorry for being a pain, but I posted the emo-robin pic in my thread and got some pretty valid critiques.

As a result, I made a few tweaks.

I left an smaller version of the older one posted above, but this is the new and FINAL version...

I'd love to hear thoughts, but if you're burnt out on it, I get it.

I'm not going to lie. I can't see what is different.
Sorry.

I am guessing they are fine details that are hard to spot in the smaller image.

Edit: I can see the details done to the hair now.

I like the style, and I love the execution. It's very well done.

I just don't like the take for the character.
But I'm old fashion, so don't take that negatively. Just my personal taste.

As for style, man you know what you are doing. Great work.

My idea for these redesigns goes along with the idea that it all started with Superman coming to Earth.
Lex Luther and Superman had already been enemies for a while.
During some battle, set up by Luther, Superman actually bled. Luther got a hold of that DNA and spawned several projects. (by the way, these designs are based on my own drawings of these characters.)

Using the DNA Luther's lab started the "Venom" Project: creating a chemical that would give a person the super powers of Superman.
After several tests and failures, two of which include Joker and Bane, the project got close to a success. But the super powers given by the Venom only last an hour. Luther now has a small army of soldiers each equipped with this chemical. But because of the time period they are highly expendable.

Luther also had his labs start a cloning project. But he not only had them use Superman's DNA, but he added in his own. The first several groups were failures. It wasn't until group 3 that they even started to show life. But Groups 3 to 5 were failures as well, resulting in the Bizzarro clones, who were never let out of the labs, and are still held there in cells.

But shortly after those failures the cloning began to see real results, creating three clones code named Black Adam, Powergirl, and Captain Marvel. All three resemble both Luther and Superman, some a little more one way than the other. The three clones are used as secret weapons, who oficially don't exist. whereas the Hour Men have been openly used in public.

Black Adam is a version where his growth was spead up making him older than Superman. Because of the Luther DNA he is balding somewhat. He also resembles Luther a little more than the others. He has been trained to be ruthless.
Powergirl, whose code name came from the now defunked Teen Titans (Luther owned the trademark), is a clone of Superman/Luther but with a XX chromasome. She, like Adam, was trained to be cut throat. But she seems somewhat less morally ambigious.
Captain Marvel, or Billy as the scientists liked to call him, is a younger clone. His body matured to the age Superman is (give or take two years) but he emotionally matured to the age of a pre-teen. He was trained like the others but is more moral than them. (possible programming interference from a sabatour.)

The three have been sent by Luther Corp. on secret covert missions.
During one mission Billy, Captain Marvel, went AWAL. He wasn't spotted till weeks later sporting a new uniform and acting like a superhero.

Many years ago Superman came to Earth, but someone fallowed.
The computer program Brainiac fallowed his flight plan and came to Earth too. At first he was simply an intangible program hiding in the computers. But he then forced Lex Luther to build him a robot body, based on Brainiac's designs. Once Superman suppossedly destroyed Brainiac, Luther took what was left of the body and using the designs Brainiac left on his computer he started several other programs in his labs.
A) Using the Brainiac designs to build robotic body parts in a limb replacement program. (Which created Cyborg)

B) Use the Brainiac designs to create high tech robotic armor.
(Which created both Steel, and Luther's own armor)

C) The Military commissioned Luther Corp. in a project involving alternative power. Luther incorporated the Brainiac tech, and it resulted in Nathaniel Christopher Adam being turned into living atomic energy the Government code named Captain Atom.

Not all characters in the Ultimate DCU are directly connected to Superman's arrival.
Slade Wilson, AKA Deathstroke, AKA the Terminator, is an assassin, hit man, and mercenary for hire.
He is hired by Luther to take down the Teen Titans, who went rogue and were calling themselves the Titans. He was later sent after Batman.

Superman's arrival on Earth also opened Earth up to other visitors. One such visitor was Katar Hol, police officer from the Plantet Thanagar. Now on Earth he still tries to enforce the law, but is now called a superhero.

The idea is still that Superman's arrival sparked the entire Ultimate DCUniverse into what it becomes.
because of Superman there are now also Hourmen, Black Adam, Powergirl, Captain Marvel, Bizzarros, Captain Atom, and Hawkman.
