My submission to Project Rooftop for Black Canary.
Tried to give her a real superhero costume instead of her trademark outfit.

I realaly like that logo. Good job.

it's okay. i know this is gonna sound egotistical, but honestly, i draw characters the way i do for a reason so while i don't mind if anyone manips them, i also don't really care for the manips themselves. the blue gauntlets don't jive with me because i think if he's gonna have gauntlets they might as well be a different color. the \S/ is the regular one so no opinion on that other than what i normally have when i see that \S/. also, the changes to the colors are a tad dark for my tastes. maybe it's just my monitor (i haven't calibrated it yet) but the darkness makes it seem unfriendly.

good manips, i'm just not diggin' the changes. sorry

not egotistical at all. it's your art-piece, your baby.

in general, my philosophy has always been, as long as the colors are in their respective places in terms of classic, whatever is done within the color is fine, encouraged even.

so when i saw your manip, i thought the design was amazing. so i wanted to see it in the light of "normal" color. and i love it, and would welcome it. there isn't really any reason to give him gaunlets. so making them a different color brings more attention to them. that's why i made them the same color. so it's there as part of the suit. i compare it to wearing a shirt and a tie that are the same color. it looks great, and the tie doesn't have to be a different color.

about the colors, it's actually not that dark, maybe there is something to your monitor theory, because oddly enough, i thought you pic was a tad too bright, but always thought it was a creative choice. the thing is, all the red, yellow, and even the blue, start to kinda merge together. i used the darker colors to make the red and the blue and yellow more distinct.

still love the original design as well.

Jesus, I can't believe this thread is still around. Now I have pages and pages to look through.

not a fan of the short caped superman. looks like a scarf. cool drawing tho

Pretty cool Nightwing redesign by sean-izaakse:

Everyone knows that Grayson will be Nightwing again, this is one of many ideas I've finally put down of how I'd redesign him. I'll probably change a couple small things in future. I wanted it to have an iconic feel, and not lose any of the things we love about the Nightwing design. I've found a lot of artists don't get his costume right cos they don't pay attention to detail cos there's not enough things that are recognizable at a glance because it's all black, so they get his boots and cloves wrong. Which is why I made his boots and belt lighter and not black, so that at a glance, any artist will notice them and hopefully not get it wrong, also it makes it more "superhero" looking. I make the "V" on his chest, more stylized, like the look from the Batman Animated series, which I think it cool.

More re-designs of characters coming soon - just for fun.

Hope you guys dig.

Edit: Totally just came up with a great idea and back story on these redesigns... dom dom dom. Stay tuned.

Don't like the mask, but the rest of it is pretty killer. Makes him look a little more mature, the boots and belt break up the costume nicely, and the adjustments to the symbol are notably more iconic.

I like this a lot.

I think I might do a nightwing design myself something that works in the robin style costume

well its not as good as the one ramore posted but i think i did ok i wanted to give him a beak like mask that offered protection and a better disguise so i just went with it. his main weapon is a stun pole that breaks in two for storage and his secondary is stun tonfas and his armored boots are weapons to cause I picture him doing awesome kick attacks. i even did a concept cycle for him, sorry its not well done but it was sort of just a quick thought. anyway i hope you like it but like i said i feel my art is cheesy compared to a lot posted on here so try to keep a open mind

Good work CampBlood. There's some really strong elements I love about this piece. I really like the headgear. And the fact that the hair comes back looking like plumage. It really ads to the bird motif.

I also really like how the dark blue has become prominent instead of the black.

Unfortunately I think some of the bells and whistles and metal and technological pieces are added kinda unneccarily. This is nightwing, remember. He's got one of the simplest most elegant costumes of them all. It's designed so that nothing restricts him, as he's above all a gymnast and acrobat.

Nice one.

Thanks man I had a feeling the metal was cramping his style but I didn't want to use to much of one color, I am gonna do a re-color

EDIT: Sorry guys, I keep trying to make them smaller but nothing is working. if you right click and then hit view you'll be able to see them better.

Here's my redesign of Steph as Batgirl:

And here's a redesign of Tim as Red Robin borrowing heavily from his new Young Justice duds:

Love those spiderfan did you draw them?

Campblood that's probably one of your best designs yet cool cycle. I think it would work better maybe as Redwing persona for Tim instead of Red Robin.

Yep, I did. Sorry they're so huge...that's really weird, I didn't even know they were that big. I kept trying to edit them and make them smaller but it wouldn't work.

Cool designs on here, I really like the Nightwing drawings on the last page.

Thanks for the compliments on nightwing I say the best part of it was the headgear so I will redo it and make it more suitible for nightwing I have a few ideas like making the cape shorter loosing the tonfas since the bow can act as escrima sticks when it splits and some other small changes but I am going to keep te headgear and under suit

I cannot draw. But I need a drawing. So, I have a request. And it's a redesign too. The Question, my namesake, as a Red Lantern. I imagined it being his normal outfit, minus his coat and hat (so, dress ****, dress pants, tie, vest, gloves, dress shoes, mask), but in Red Lantern colors with the Red lantern symbol on his tie. But, y'know, that's not a necessity. Anyone interested in helping me out?

I was inspired by the recent Wonder Woman redesign to make my own. Basically I just took a bunch of components from older WW designs I liked and put them all together into one suit.
