:wow: Well still would love to see it. Superman being in the classic 1940s costume. Him lifting islands and stuff. Fighting gigantic robots.:hehe:
I take it that you're a big fan of the Fleischer animated shorts?:cwink:

Yes, I too would love Superman having another series; it would be hard to top Timm's version but you never know...

is Superman ever going to appear on Brave and the Bold?

The way the explained the show at SDCC last year, they wanted it to be a venue for new adventures and characters that get stuck in the back...I never expected to see Superman and was never given any reason to think that he would

This show is following along the lines of the 60s-70s comic book where B-listers were the guest stars. If Superman makes an appearance then it be be too much like World's Finest - another DC title that was out during that time.

I say let the other superheroes who wouldn't usually get any spotlight have their moment.

But i'd still like to see him show up maybe during one of the opening sequences.

Bats has mentioned the League, so it might happen eventually.

He also made a passing mention to Superman in the Bat-Mite episode:

Batman: You're not from around here, are you?

Bat-Mite: I'm from the fifth dimension. Beings from my realm have powers that you 3-Ds take for magical.

Batman: A friend of mine in Metropolis told me about menaces like you.

Oh yeah! I remember watching them as a little kid. And actually it could be better then Timms version. I just want another series do not really care which is better as long as the new one would be good. You feel me.

And i want the classic Superman wear he wears the 40s costume and lift islands and fight robots. Also have him be like in the comics were he fights the KKK and wife beaters and people like that be awesome and the whole Japan thing.

This would be a TV-14 cartoon show by the way i'm thinking i do not think with a Brave & The Bold type rating they can have Superman take on wife beaters, KKK or terrorists.

I would LOVE to see Supes in a Golden era setting but the whole Japan thing might offend more than just a few of his Asian fans. You mean like WW II Axis stuff right?

That's not an area that WB/DC would want to venture in this day and age for a cartoon and I don't blame them much if they don't either. That's the tricky thing about content like that.

Is this gonna be on DVD by itself? Or as an extra? Or on an anthology?

Hopefully an extra or an anthology

I remember hearing about a Hex animated a while back but I was under the impression it would be one of the longer ones.

it seems like these shorts will be an extra on a DC Animated DVD/Blu Ray.

I don't mind Superman not being BRAVE AND THE BOLD. Not only to be accurate to the old style comics, but it isn't as if he's rare in animation. Sure, he doesn't show up on cartoons as often as Batman, but he shows up more often than many other characters like Wonder Woman, Flash, or any Green Lantern. LEGION OF SUPERHEROS relied so much on a teen version they literally had two of them in the second season. PUBLIC ENEMIES will be the third animated DTV of the new line where Superman has shown up, same as Batman. I see the show as having a charm to it because Batman is literally the only A-List superhero there. Even Hal Jordon had to play second fiddle to Guy Gardner and G'nort so far.

If I have one complaint is that the show's a bit of a sausage fest and I wouldn't mind more female heroines popping up for full length episodes. I imagine Wonder Woman would be too "high profile" but that still leaves many heroines. So far only Huntress has shown up for a full episode, which she shared with Blue Beetle. There's Katanna from the Outsiders, but she rarely talks. Beyond that, the only heroines have popped up in the "teasers", Fire, Big Barda (with Mr. Miracle of course) and Black Canary. Nearly every superhero who popped up in a teaser has gotten a full length episode showing except Fire (and I think Elongated Man and B'wanna Beast). And no, Adam Strange's wife doesn't count either.

I've heard the 40's Superman animated shorts will be hitting a DVD collection soon and I'll nab that. I've always enjoyed them, and they've influenced many people in animation both here and abroad. Japanese anime film director Hayao Miyazaki even noted being inspired by them, and inserting robots that are all but plucked from the second short into one of his LUPIN THE THIRD episodes as well as his feature film, LAPUTA (released on video as CASTLE IN THE SKY dubbed by Disney).

And to keep things on topic, in said dub of LAPUTA, Mark Hamill plays the villain of the piece. :p

Yeah i want a Superman golden era television show. Okay yeah i understand the Japan thing may be too harsh. But what about the wife beaters? Or the KKK? He can tackle them people right? Also i said i want a Tv-14 show. So they can get away with stuff like that.

Okay well as long as i get a golden era Superman show it can be PG and i be fine.

Of all the heroes in the DCU, I think Wonder Woman has come across even better when animated than in the comics. If you're old school (like me), you might remember how intelligent and poised she was on the 1970s Super Friends. Here's a write up at: http://superfriendstats.blogspot.com/2009/07/wonder-woman.html

I like the grittier, recent animated version of her as well

Ditto. The Wonder Woman of the modern Justice League/Unlimited is amazing!
