Could be that everyone is deep in the GoT hype right now..
Yes I think so. Hard to think about anything else TV related for many I'm sure, till the season is done.

Matt not phased by Danny's punch makes me think he's the superior fighter in these shows.

We know Matt is great at taking abuse, and fighting through it. It has been shown several times with him returning home bruised battered and bleeding in Daredevil Seasons 1 and 2. Although less in Season 2 because he had armor built into his costume by then. So, it does not surprise me that he is able to take Danny's normal punch in the face without it phasing him too greatly. However, if Danny punched Matt in the face with the power of the Iron Fist, then it would have been game over for Matt. I mean we saw what it did to Luke Cage's face in another clip and he is pretty much invulnerable.

On another note though, I am not sure what these things have to do with either one of them being the Superior Fighter. To me a Superior Fighter is the one with the best fighting skills, and neither of those things speak to that effect. In the comics Danny is considered to be the Superior Fighter. Perhaps the television version will make the two appear to be equally skilled fighters, just with different techniques (Danny being more of a Kung Fu fighter and Matt being more of a Boxer with some mixed martial arts). I guess we will have to see, but nothing in the quick few shots of Danny punching Matt tells me they are making Matt the superior fighter. So, I am not sure how you get that from that clip.

That is my favorite scene right there. Totally gets me excited for Heroes for Hire, even if it will have to come after a 2nd season of Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

It was a guess.

Did anyone see the part at the end where Danny is punching with the Iron Fist and Madame Gao is simultaneously throwing a punch at his fist. Is it possible she was an Iron Fist at one time, but perhaps her fist does not glow anymore because of the evil she has done? I mean she is obviously connected to it somehow with the Steel Serpent symbol on the Heroin and it would explain perhaps how Bakuto knows all he does about Danny's Iron Fist's powers. I also remember her hitting Daredevil in Season one and him being kind of stunned. So, it will be interesting to see what happens when those 2 fists collide.

I see that Netflix actually has a countdown timer for this. Apparently it comes out one hour earlier than expected :woot:

Interesting. I did not anticipate an opposite feeling from mine. Goes to show that anecdotal experiences are all over the place.

Still, I'm not sensing record breaking levels of hype.

This weirdly snuck up on me. I mean I objectively know it's coming out tomorrow, but it's hard to feel that. Maybe it's because there's so much comic book shows now that this kind of feels under the radar.

A part of me thinks the more tepid reactions to Luke Cage followed by the outright negative consensus on Iron Fist has dampened the hype a bit.

I am a bit more optimistic based on the review of Collider's Jon Schnepp of the first four episodes. He said that he enjoyed the first four episodes and Danny Rand was a lot better in this than he was in his own series.

Oh don't get me wrong, MY hype isn't dampened one bit. The reviews sound good and I trust the DD creative team to deliver. I'm just suggesting why it may seem like there's less hype for it than expected.

Looking forward to tomorrow, has kind of snuck up on me with all the GOT stuff going on and many films out at the moment but all the trailers look good and the fight choreography looks a step up from the disappointing stuff in IF. Reviews have seemed mostly positive on the whole so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Is it reviewing well? Seems well behind Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in that regard.

LC got better reviews than it deserved because the sample episodes they sent out cut off before the series shot itself in the foot. Of course, that could be happening here too since there's no telling what happens in the back half of this, but the reviews here still seem pretty positive. "Flawed but good" is the general consensus I'm getting, which is the same that DD S2 got, and I LOVED that. And everyone seems to be in agreement that it's not an Iron Fist-esque dud, so I'm good.

So that means it's premiering at 3am EST, the same time as all the others.

This. I definitely think the Netflix shows have been on a bit of a downward trend as of late.

That being said, this show seems to at least be on the more good side than bad (definitely not great, but not a stinker), and hopefully Steve Lightfoot brings his Bryan Fuller-game to Punisher. I'm still excited for The Defenders, but my expectations are tempered.
