Defenders teaser + Hand confirmed for bad guys!

I hope the Hand are more interesting here then in DD season 2.

Even in the comics they are boring, they seem like excuse for fight scenes, cool and creepy imagery and generic ninja tropes. They are all style no substance, there is no interesting stand out compelling characters within the Hand, its evil generic ninjas and their evil generic bosses. The Foot which is a parody of the Hand has more interesting characters with Shredder and Karai.

Wonder if Matt will think Spidey is a dumb kid in the MCU, and feel annoyed by his inexperience.

Ninja Fodder is okay, they just need more then that to carry the show. I personally hope they make Gorgon the leader and Elektra will be a brainwashed general at his command, who will eventually regain control at the end to help the Defenders defeat Gorgon and his hordes of Ninja. Also, keep in mind the Defenders Series is suppose to have 8 episodes instead of 13 episodes like the individual Character's series contain. So, it is only slightly longer then half the length and therefore the story doesn't need to be stretched as much and it should allow for a tighter show.

I see the Beast as more of a tool used for possession then as a leader in my opinion. I could see him appearing in the show as a character worshiped by the hand, but I think it would be better if his spirit was called upon by another and in doing so the beast is required to be subordinate to the other for freeing him. Anyways, that is how I would rather see it.

Great little teaser despite no footage. You actually do get a good idea of how this is going to go down. And what makes this unique from Avengers or a team up idea is that instead of two hours of superheroes coming together, fighting and going back to where they go, this is going to be 13 hours of these four damaged people living together in the same vicinity. That's totally different and something I'm really excited about.

I'm hoping hat The Hand's goal is revealed early and they find a way to make the threat is good as Fisk/Killgrave. There needs to be something clearly at stake and something that makes the Hand seem like a formidable foe and not just some trope.

I thought so too, but Loeb mentioned 13 hours in an interview, though it wasn't really clear whether he was being general about the Netflix shows or talking explicitly about Defenders

Well Elektra and the entirety of NY is at stake so I guess that makes them formidable. Then theres the fact Elektra is possed by The Beast. Which will likely give her a dangerous power boost. So they have a few goals.

-Save NY
-Get Elektra Back
-Defeat The Beast

And Simultaneously Defeat The Hand.

I wasn't bothered by how they left the Hand stuff unexplained in DD2. It was clear they ere setting up something bigger and the story was just beginning.

I think the Hand stuff could have been handled better, but probably not while also doing the rest of the subplots. It was either "accept the Hand as being poorly explained and vague" or else "cut out the Punisher entirely".

On the bright side it gives them more material for other series to explain. Wonder if Iron Fist will go against the Hand. Ninja v Ninja. They'll probably also be teased in Cage as well. They need to leave some exposition out to stretch out the plot.
