I wasn't too impressed with the first issue of Prelude To Schism. It told us nearly nothing; but, just recapped origin type stuff.

Pretty heavy week. Another double dose of AVENGERS ACADEMY is nice. HERC #2 ran about two weeks late, as it was supposed to double ship in April; thus. I am curious if this issue will REALLY come out this week, or this is an outdated Diamond assumption. I'll double check Midtown Comics' website on the 16th or 17th; if THEY don't have it, it didn't ship (or it's REALLY obscure).

They have .1 issues to series that haven't started yet. Yet it isn't a zero issue, technically. Is this a sign Marvel know they've overplayed the fresh #1 strategy? Why not add all the ALPHA FLIGHT numbers, and make up a few? Hell, if they wanted to add up all the prior 3 volumes and the annuals, and even OMEGA FLIGHT, they could just relaunch it as ALPHA FLIGHT #170. Lord knows they'll do it within ten issues anyway. I'll give it a chance.

Pity Jeff Parker's THUNDERBOLTS. In one fell swoop, FEAR ITSELF #2 made 2/3rds of his run moot. These issues will be seeing how well his damage control preparations will work.

Good week, and only one comic is $3.99.

Yeah, Prelude to Schism #1 didn't impress me too much but you know me with X-Men.

And I did pick up Skaar #1 and #2 with some birthday money and I enjoyed them quite a bit. I'll try to finish out the mini if funds hold out. I may be dropping stuff though because this twice a month lately is killing my budget and I'm overspending the same as before I cut about 8 titles a couple months ago. I'm going to be cutting FF now and am debating on a few others. My problem is that I officially like everything I buy so I don't know what else to cut if I am. My wife sees me getting frustrated and tells me to not worry about it if the twice a month titles go back to once a month after summer but it still bugs me.

Echo will likely come out this week or next and that'll be finished. Secret Warriors has two more issues left. Annihilators Power Man & Iron Fist only have one more issue. Those will be a big help. Cutting FF is another $3 saved. Other than that, it's cutting that'll need to be done and I don't know what else to cut.

I'd feel comfortable cutting maybe two or three titles but I don't want to drop any of these. I kinda want to drop Emerald Warriors and Batman Inc most but those are kinda influential to the rest of their line, and I do enjoy them, so I don't know. I was in a horrible mood last night rummaging through them and came to no conclusions save for FF. I'm just going to have to play it issue by issue or something. I don't know.

Also, I was at Half Priced Books yesterday and found most all the issues of Daken that I was missing for $1.50 each so I bought them. I've not read them but skimmed them and he really does seem like a cool character. They also had the entire run of Dark Wolverine and I skimmed some of those and I think I can really get into this character. I've been buying the book for the past couple of months and have really enjoyed it and am thinking about picking up those Dark Wolverine issues (50 cents each) so, as he was a potential drop, he isn't now.
