Big news where I live. An 8 year old kid, under his Father and a teenage instructors supervision, accidentally shot himself in the head (and died) with an uzi at a gun show a few years ago. As he fired, he lost control of the weapon, which recoiled upwards before spinning back and firing into the childs head.

Now the man who ran the show is on the trial. Anyone else hear about this?

No. I hadn't heard of this. Let's see how the gun lobby tries to spin this one. No way an 8-year old should have been allowed to handle a loaded gun of any kind, let alone an Uzi.
If the guy in charge allowed this kind of thing to happen at his gun show, he should be on trial.

gun shows are ridiculous. they need stricter laws on that type of stuff.

A loaded gun at a gun show? That is just ridiculously stupid......

Involuntary Manslaughter would be the correct verdict IMO.

To be fair, don't some gun shows have shooting ranges? I'd be interested to hear exactly where in the gun show it happened. I can see having a loaded gun on a shooting range but not on the floor. No excuse for having a loaded gun on the floor. And even moreso, no excuse for allowing an 8-year old to handle a loaded gun AT ALL, regardless of whether it was on a shooting range or not.

The guy on trial was nowhere near the incident as it took place. The instructor on hand said the child wasnt allowed to use the uzi, but his father insisted, according to testimony.

pretty much everyone in the region has stated the father is the one who should be on trial

If the guy allowed loaded guns on the floor, then he shares in the guilt. And the instructor should have ignored the father's insistence. We really need more info about this situation.

Pretty sure it's illegal in Ohio to have a loaded gun at gun shows not sure about other states

I would hope that is the law in EVERY state, if not....well.....stupidity at its best.
