The ending killed it for me...

On the film critique.

I am an ameteur at the art myself. With that said. I found the posioning scene could TECHNICALLY have been cut. It literally would not have disrupted the flow of the film, and some directors believe iif you don't missi t, cut it, but I sometimes disagree with that philosophy. It added more texture to teh film. I thought the pacing problems came from after the torture scene when they realized they passed the 2 hour mark and tried to wrap it up as quickly as possible (lots of jump cutting from here until the end of the movie). But the poker scenes were easily the most controlled in pacing. It made sense and was completely comfortable and well done. Bond getting poisioned surprised the audience and added a level of depth between him and Vesper with him saving her life. He increases the value of her character and gives some insight to her motives, especially at the end as it proves it wasn't all for money. And for an action movie it raised the suspense from just being on the table and in a Bond movie it is very importnat. And to be able to do it while not killing the story pace and being able to develop a character without a big explosion is also greatly appreciated too though.

Signed.

Craigs villain sucked.

Best Bond villain after View to Kill hands down is 006.

The others at least had henchman who would do the work for them or could defend themselves...CR, not so much.

I liked Le Chiffre a lot as a villian... he wasn't too over-the-top, and he had a few henchmen. Was glad to see he didn't have a mass army like every other Bond film in memory. PLUS Le Chiffre was on the run from his own organization... so he didn't have his organization's members at his disposal. Not saying your opinion sucks or anything (I can definitely see where you're coming from), but knowing that this is an introduction to the "bigger villian", I liked the way it was done.

Someone commented about the Mr. White thing not having enough story, but it isn't like Mr. White is the real villian- like Le Chiffre he's a player in the big picture and that's how Bond gets involved with them.

And FINALLY [SPOILER?? not really], Bond got shot with a freakin' nail gun- I mean, come on, that's friggin' cool.

Yes there was a little easter egg after the credits.

Take a guess what it is. If you've ever seen a Bond movie you should know.

Was it James Bond will return??

Thats because Craig didn't play Bond. He played Bond becoming Bond. It's different.

Oh, and I loved the ending. I just thought it was awesome.

x2 !

That end shot killed me so hardcore. Holy crap.

It ruled.

"Bond, James Bond."

He finally became Bond! I can't wait to see his first mission AS Bond, per se in the next film. Because now it'll be even harder core.

Le Chiffe and Mr White were his "first mission":o

Really....I got the notion that there was more than just Mr. White behind this. Obviously, he was the man Le Chiffre answered to.......but, when you look at the movie, Bond really works his way up the food chain the ENTIRE film. Most of the action scenes, really....everybody he set his sights on led to another guy who was bigger and had more weight....and I got the feeling that Mr. White was just another fish that leads to bigger bait.

Loved the ending. Just.....****ing wow.

It wouldnt be a Bond movie without that at the very end of the credits :woot:

david arnold was talking about this.he said when he played the theme in parts it just made you feel bond would be ok.So what he done was give you litttle grabs at it,like he is clawing his way to it.And then at then end..give it to you.I thought it was exellent way of doing it.

I also heard the Bond theme in the beginning when he gets off the plane.

I liked how it ended.
When he said "Bond, James Bond", it gave me the feeling like he is now full Bond, the one we all know.

I hated only the main twist.

They didn't give Mr. White more screen time to show his development (even if it was too short).

But Le Chiffre was cool villian. He wasn't so powerful, but if you hurt him, he will do anything to revenge on you.

when you get humilated, beaten up, and shot in the head, i don't think you can be called bad ass, much less a good VILLIAN.

le chiffre was such a *****.

But he still managed to be threatening. And he was that much more engaging as a villain because he wasn't the one pulling all the shots - he stood to lose even more than Bond did in that game. He was playing for his life. And that's a very interesting element to bring into it.

Yeah, and I loved it. I thought it was one of the best deliveries of "the line" in Bond history. Bond, in a stunning suit, with the mother of all guns. That's just cool.

Second that!!! :woot:

Anyone who has James freaking Bond tied ass naked to a chair and then proceeds to wack his balls over and over should be called a villian.

THANK YOU.

Mads was good with what he had...but the villain was a B*tch. When you start feeling Sorry that this guys is about to die, you know you have a problem.

They couldve made it so that he was both desperate AND a badass

Tidbits yes but not full blast like in the end :D

Fullblast mode is like the little nellie fight in You only live twice

Let's name some desperate bad asses shall we?

Raiden

I never felt sorry for Le Chiffre though. Not for a moment. There was a second where I felt bad for his girl.....but then after what she did, I wanted her dead too.

What I dug about Le Chiffre was just how desperate he was. He wasn't actually imposing, but his cardplaying with Bond was essentially the fight between he and Bond, and 007 won....which made him all the more desperate.

And, you kinda have to understand......Le Chiffre isn't a bossman. He's really just a secondary type.....something like Scarecrow. Not the best of the rouge's.....but if you use him the right way, can be pretty cool. Obviously, though...Mads made the character work.

And, that torture scene. Any man that will do that to another man's sack....evil to the core.

I loved the ending: Mr White on the floor and 007 says "The name's Bond James Bond" then the classic theme starts.

It was perfect and Campbell should return for Bond 22!

THAT' WAS ON THE ONE!!!

I for one loved the ending.

The way the music played as Bond walked up the steps, and the delivery of the line...fantastic.
