The Expendables 3

I don't see how Stallone doesn't try to get Snipes. They played really well off each other in Demolition Man, and as much as a I like JCVD, he doesn't have half the charisma Snipes has.

You would think that after Al Capone, people would remember to file their taxes.

It's not that they don't remember, it's that they think no one will notice.

Even though Snipes is a better actor, I don't see him topping Vilain. They should make him a good guy and have them fight robots.

He was originally supposed to be Hale Caesar, so I'm sure they will figure out a way to bring him in.

I think Crews has been great in these movies, so I doubt they would just drop him.

I would really like to see Snipes as the main villain, unless it's Cage. If Cage is the villain, I would prefer Snipes be a good guy.

Just heard on the radio this morning that Snipes has been offered a role, didn't say what...

So Mel Gibson might be directing this? That could be interesting.

I think that's wishful thinking on Sly's part.

Sylvester Stallone ‏@TheSlyStallone 18m

Mel is a MAGNIFICENT director! Pure passion on every level . we'd be blessed to have him.. A REAL long shot, but LIFE is a long shot -right?

I think he's trying to garner public suppourt to convince the studios.

And for all of us wanting Wesley Snipes, to paraphrase Adrian Veidt;

Sly did it 35 minutes ago.

@TheSlyStallone Wesley Snipes is BACK!!!! ... ...with US.

i hope if Mel directs Sly wont act like they got a guy who is one of them(action stars). because Mel is on another level as an actor and director. he could become only a rich action star for 20 years.but he wanted more and got it.

if they get Mel as a director then he is doing them a favor and not the other way around.

I think b missed the whole MAGNIFICENT director bit.

As for the whole favour thing, it's asinine to think it's as one sided as that. It would be the exact same thing that's happening with Iron Man 3. A talented director on the blacklist, gets a shot at material people thought was beneath him thanks to a favour by his buddy the lead actor. Is now given a 3,000 screen theatrical release to showcase his talent, rack up a hit to his name and parlay his recent success to further film projects.

i meant if he directed how would he act during promotion

Well, Fiege and Downey are being pretty loud about the fact they're doing Shane Black a favour, despite the fact Black's the one giving a boost to the franchise with his talent. I don't see why it wouldn't be the same with Sly and Mel.

That's embarassing that they're doing that. Shane Black is the reason that movie looks decent.

Yup. It's the first time I've heard of this. It's a pity if true. I was under the impression that RDJ pushed Marvel to get Black after the whole IM2 thing.

What exactly did Shane Black do that hurt his perception in Hollywood anyway?

Hollywood blamed him for Last Boy Scout and Long Kiss Goodnight flopping and he started suffering from depression, so he walked. A decade later he attempted a come back with Kiss Kiss, Warners dumped it on limited release with no advertising because they thought it was ****.

Mel also just starred in "Machete Two". He's talented as all hell, but I think the guy would jump at the chance to take on a challenge when some big hitters actually welcome him coming aboard.

Mel is awesome. I would love to see him in the movie as well as direct
