The Expendables 3

Cage should be the wildcard!

Then jump out the back of Arnie and Sly's van.

I'd love to be fly on the wall when Arnold, Sly, Cage and Gibson start chatting it up.

I'll be interested how Wesley Snipes and Terry Crews enjoy Mel Gibson's liberal useage of the N word.

Cage never declines a movie role so something must have fallen through here.

Recently I thought I saw him say in an interview he was going to be more picky with the films hes in.

I wonder about that. Supposedly he's still got quite a tax bill to pay off though even if he were being selective, how the hell do you turn down appearing in Expendables 3?

Probably the pay wasn't big enough so appearing in a non-ensemble film would pay him more.

Those taxes aren't going away on their own.

I heard production schedule interfered with Trapped in Paradise 2: Still Lovin' Lovitz.

Kellan Lutz?

Kellan Lutz, who played Emmett Cullen in "The Twilight Saga," is in early talks to join Sylvester Stallone in "The Expendables 3," an individual familiar with the Lionsgate project told TheWrap.

Lionsgate did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Australian filmmaker Patrick Hughes, who has a successful background in commercials, is directing the action-packed sequel, which Stallone is producing with Millennium Films.

According to insiders, "Expendables 3" will introduce a younger group of tech-savvy action heroes who initially clash with the older crew, though they eventually team up to save the day.

It remains unclear which surviving cast from "The Expendables 2" will join Stallone in the sequel, though action heroes Jackie Chan and Wesley Snipes have been rumored for new roles.

While Stallone has hinted on Twitter at the potential casting of Mel Gibson, TheWrap has confirmed that the "Lethal Weapon" star is not officially involved with "The Expendables 3" at the moment.

"The Expendables" films have grossed more than half a billion dollars, and the latest sequel will start shooting next month. "The Expendables 3" hits theaters Aug. 15, 2014.

Since his breakout role in the "Twilight Saga," Lutz has starred in Relativity's "Immortals" and the Michael Bay-produced remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street." He recently wrapped the title role in Renny Harlin's "Hercules 3D" and also stars in an upcoming "Tarzan" movie.

Lutz is repped by Innovative Artists, Zero Gravity Management and attorney Jeffrey Endlich.

Well, another reason not to see this movie...

Why Sly...why...

Oh well, maybe they'll off him in the first 10-15 minutes like they did with the lesser Hemsworth.

I can still honestly say I've only seen one movie featuring a Hemsworth that I did not like/love. Considering I'be seen nine movies with one of the brothers in it, and the one I didn't like was the one Liam did with Miley Cyrus, those brothers are doing ok in my book.

What about that be the Red Dawn remake? From what I can tell, no one liked it.

Well, this will take the sting off Kellen Lutz:

Following news earlier today of The Twilight Saga's Kellan Lutz joining the cast of The Expendables 3, comes word, via Sylvester Stallone's Twitter feed, that mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey and welterweight boxer Victor Ortiz will be joining the ensemble as well.

In addition to Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jason Statham have been confirmed for the project, which is slated to begin shooting next month in Los Angeles. Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Nicolas Cage and Milla Jovovich are also rumored to be in advanced negotiations to join the cast as well.

The Expendables 3 will mark the acting debut of both Rousey and Ortiz. The former is the first American woman to have ever taken home an Olympic medal for Judo (a bronze in the 2008 summer games in Beijing) while the latter emerged as WBC's welterweight champion in 2011. He also recently appeared on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars".

The Expendables 3 will be directed by Patrick Hughes and will arrive in theaters on August 15, 2014.

Take the sting off of one place, apply it to somewhere else.

Damn. I have been out of watching boxing for so long that I had never heard of Victor Ortiz until Dancing with the Stars.

It's probably a good move to round out the cast with some young faces. I read somewhere these new cast members would actually be playing villains.

I'm not sure why Sly is sometimes trying to fight the premise of this franchise. But whatever, we've got so many behemoths in E3 that Lutz and Jovovich can be stomached (I hope).

I actually liked that one ok. I mean, it was a free Redbox rental, so I didn't pay $10 or whatever to see it, so I didn't have that investment in it. I liked the original more, but as much as I do like the original, I don't hold it up like it's some gold standard for film making the way people tend to do every time a movie is remade. I thought it was a pretty decent way to spend an evening at home while my wife was working a later shift.

I'd put it on the lower end of the Hemsworth movies, though. I definitely didn't love it the way I did Avengers or Cabin in the Woods, for example.
