I also loved the series as a kid. I thought the "speed effect" for the time was pretty cool looking. Only thing a little distracting was that it seemed like it was filmed at night or in the dark at lot...possibly because it make the speed effect easier.

Ok, after the latest episode it seems all bets are off and there are so many possibilities on where they can go now (you know what I'm referring to here) - I want our Barry to travel to the 1990 tv show Earth (Earth1990?) and team up with the older Barry/Flash. Imagine seeing Grant in his costume alonside JWS in his. I'd even go so far as to use something that looks like the old 1990 speed fx for JWS's Flash and his 1990 score cues. I'd also be a kick to see our Barry learn that the guy who should be his dad is not only him but also his alter-ego. Talk about fun.

In my book the series gets a lot better about halfway through, but even the early episodes are decent. The only issue is they tried to be too much like Burton's Batman in the beginning, with Flash taking on drug dealers, gangs, mob bosses, and corrupt politicians instead of supervillians. But they corrected course.

Don't forget to watch Vixen there too if you haven't already.

Stick with it. It starts to get much better with episodes 9 and 10. That's when it became less inspired by Tim Burton's Batman and became more of a Flash show in its own right.

Saw it at bestbuy today for $9.99. Kinda mad because I bought it on Amazon a while back for almost $20

A funny story about the original series. Back in 1990. I was still in college. I loved the show. But, I missed a couple of episodes and one was partially pre-empted by a presidential speech. I took a chance and contacted Pet Fly Productions. Somehow I got in touch with someone there who was high up and very cool. A few weeks later I got a few vhs tapes in the mail with the episodes I missed and the one that was partially pre-empted.
