THE FLASH - 2016 can't get here fast enough!

50 % irony from me, sorry.
Why? Because a number of people seem to want Flash as a light hero.

Kids can take it. I remember seeing Superman 3 as a kid and when the robot lady's eye changed that freaked me the heck out but decades later that is the only thing I remember about that movie.

Yea, they CAN take it, just as they can enjoy the level of violence in Sin City. But they don't WANT Flash to be something else than Sky High or Tim Allen's Zoom.
For Scarlest Speedster to even have the same seriousness as MOS will be like the end of their world.

As an example, Flash vs Reserve Flash has to be played straight. Show the audience this what Flash could do if he ever went bad, i.e. vibrating his hand into someone's chest and pushing out their heart the other side. Obviously that is an extreme example but I think a light and fluffy super fast chase through the city with Flash decking RF with one punch will be so boring.

Dude...where are you getting that anyone wants The Flash to be like Zoom or Sky High?

We want it to be more like Spider-Man, with maybe some Iron Man and Abrams' Trek thrown in.

If the series does get picked up and The Flash DOES get a show, they had better call it "The Flash". I'm sorry, but "Scarlet Speedster" is dumb and sounds terrible. It seriously doesn't get any cooler or more condensed than just "The Flash". The genius-ness of it is in it's simplicity! And I'm not hatin' on the alternate monikers they throw around for The Flash in the comics, let alone any character, but some of them simply do not work and would be bad names for a show/movie (imagine calling "the Incredible Hulk" the "Jade Giant" or some ****....that would suck).

Why they would call it anything other than that is beyond me. All this **** began with The Dark Knight (and ****in' Smallville :o ...which worked BECAUSE IT IS A PLACE, it's the town in which Clark grew up, it's a fitting name for a tv show). And it works great for Batman, even Man of Steel is a good title for a Superman movie, but "Scarlet Speedster", "Emerald Guardian", these sound like different characters all together let alone good titles for movies. They don't even sound like the same properties.

The show should be called "The Flash".

The more I think about this, the more I like it. As long as we get a Flash in the "DCCU", I'm fine with it. And a new live-action Flash story every week? Yeah, I can live with that.

I know WB/CW will try and make the wacky costumes classy and hip (like Bomerang and Captain Cold) but I think they should rip the costumes as is right from the comics as the costumes make be wacky but they have a charm. Look at the Avengers costumes or Spidey's costumes. Go Big and go bright, kids and young teens will eat it up.

Some people might.
Just as there's guys who only want a Wonder Woman film to be about an extremely beautiful and sexy warrior woman with big boobs, dressed in leather and bikini pants.

Well, atleast the costumes would be inspired by Sky High. :cwink:

I would be over the moon if they decided to have FLASH as a bridge between tv/movies. It would be a dream. But every time I think about this being on the CW, I just cringe. (Sorry if any feel different, but I am not a lone voice in the wilderness on this. Some defend the CW in ways that make me think they own stock in it or the like. )

Flash could be good for a weekly series because it can be a crime drama and also has time to build up the world/mythology.

Because of the nature of a TV series, and the CW, I can't really see it being connected to the movie version. It will likely build up its own mythology and, as we have seen in 'Arrow' and 'Smallville', it tends to go off in its own direction.

We just have to get used to two actors playing the same role (TV and movie version), not just a "prequel" version like "Smallville".

To be honest Chris Miller and Phil Lord (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street, LEGO) should direct The Flash!

And I'd LOVE Zach Braff as Barry Allen / The Flash! Absolutely!

Zach Braff?! NO!!! Ha I like him in Garden State and Scrubs but nooooooooo he should not be Flash. Flash is somewhat comedic, but Zach Braff would be too comedic

Can't we get a better director?
What about Ridley Scott? Then Russell Crowe could have been the villain, if he hadn't already played Jor-El.

Ridley Scott doesn't do superhero movies.

He's an actor, he can play different kind of roles. Just because he's played more comedic characters in the past doesn't automatically mean that he can't play Flash. Personally, I see someone like Chris Pine being a good Flash myself.

Zach Braff's voice is reason enough for him not to be cast.

Did everybody see JMS's comments about how to approach a Flash movie? I liked what he was saying, as long as they maintained some 'joy' in that kind of story.

**** no to Zach Braff as anything, by the way.

Plenty of actors played 2 or more roles in different comic book movies, I don't see what would stop him from doing so, unless he himself doesn't want it

Any Flash movie should involve time travel
Nah, time travel is not that good a concept, and it's not that important to the character lore
If they use Eobard Thawne, they should keep him for a sequel, and merge him with Hunter Zolomon by keeping him in the same century as the Flash
