CW Eyes ‘Flash’ Series With ‘Arrow’s Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg & David Nutter

EXCLUSIVE: Another DC Comics male superhero is looking to join the CW’s lineup. I’ve learned that the network is fast tracking Flash, a drama project based on the DC character from the Arrow team of co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and director David Nutter. The CW is expected to discuss the project at today’s TCA presentation. I hear there is an idea is to introduce The Flash on Arrow next season before spinning his off into his own series. I hear Flash will be written by Berlanti, Kreisberg and DC Entertainment’s Geoff Johns who also has written for Arrow. Nutter, who helmed the Arrow pilot, will direct the potential pilot, while Berlanti and Kreisberg are expected to run the potential series. Marc Guggenheim, who developed and executive produces Arrow with Berlanti and Kreisberg, is not involved in Flash as he busy with Arrow, now heading into its second season.

The series. Now that I think about it, I can see it happening. I mean, we almost got that awful Wonder Woman TV series.

The Flash deserves his own movie.

Deadline is reporting that the Flash is headed to the small screen first. Instead of working on the Wonder Woman TV series, CW is going to introduce Flash on Arrow next season and then spin him off into his own series on the network.

Everyone remember this post...per this news, I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that after this Man of Steel sequel that features Batman, the next film is TRINITY with the introduction of Wonder Woman.

Well.....I hope it will be awesome if true. If it's at least as good as the old Flash tv show from the 90s and they get costumes and powers in there and it's everything we'd imagine a Flash tv show as being....then awesome. But if it's some Smallville ***** where they call him "the blur" and he runs around in a red hoodie or he wears a painted mask....well **** that.

And if this is true - will the big screen adaptation of The Flash feature The Flash of the tv show, or will they be entirely different takes on the same character?

Just please, please, PLEASE make it GOOD.

if they're fast tracking it i imagine it's to fit it to the jl film. never was a fan of smallville and arrow doesn't stoke my attention so i can't say i'm excited. i hope i'm wrong though. i just hope they're not doing this to beat quicksilver to live action.

I've said this about wondy before but I'd prefer if instead of series on the cw they did a mini-series on HBO (since it's owned by time warner). you can get much better talent and credibility if you do it on hbo. something like 4 episodes would be awesome.

When the Arrow showrunners said they were working on getting someone else well known in the DC universe onto their show, I didn't realise they meant someone as big as the freaking Flash!

It makes you wonder though, how many versions of their heroes do WB want out at the same time? Wasn't one of the reasons Batman never appeared on Smallville was because WB wanted to keep Nolan's version as the definitive live action one?

I haven't been following the show very closely. What about it do you not want connected to the film universe? Are there specific things that would clash with what we know about the Justice League? Or is it because it is on TV, or strays too far from the comics Green Arrow?

This is good news but also confusing. Will they use the same actor for the film from the TV show. Will they be different versions? "Arrow" wants to use the big names like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, so it looks like we will have different actors for these characters i.e. a TV version and then a movie version.
