Very 1980's type thing going on, with the random white kid becoming the ninja/kung fu expert.

The beginning of the trailer made me think of this:




but the movie will not make any money. Jackie Chan (though I love the guy) is way past his prime and without a strong American costar will not succeed in the US. The kid has that sort of Shia Lebeouf vibe going on...but a little bit more toned down. Which translates to just annoying to me. I think I'll pass on this one.
