Oh man, I would check it out in theaters if you can. It's one of those movies that deserves to be seen in theaters.

Nice, that was a great movie! I feel like buying a movie today...I have a coupon for Bolt, so I might blind buy that one. I also want to get Quantum of Solace, and am thinking about Role Models. All would be blind buys. lol.

Yeah alot more people are waiting for the disc these days so release dates after the theatrical release are getting shorter. I would say June or July Watchmen will be available. I think I am just gonna wait for the Blu-ray at this point myself and pass on seeing it in theatres. It will probably top out at $250-$300 million worldwide which is a good haul but the whole Fox situation lessens its success. Maybe the big blue dong on screen affected ticket sales too.

Paramount gets all of the international gross. Legendary Pictures is entitled to 50% of the domestic gross. And Fox is entitled to 8.5% of Warner Bros.' proceeds.

More Sony Catalog Titles on the Way
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring 'Air Force One', 'Anaconda', and 'Glory' to Blu-ray on June 2nd. For all three releases, video will be presented in 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. As with all recent Sony releases, these titles will be BD-Live enabled. No special features have been announced at this time.

Just got around to watching Burn After Reading and W. I liked Burn After Reading but you definitely have to be a Coen Brothers fan to even get into it. W. felt like a one watcher. It was interesting to watch though just don't see myself giving it repeat viewings. What did you guys think of it? Both were high quality discs though.

I'm thinking about picking up the matrix collection . I was going to just buy the first one but I might enjoy the sequels better a second time around and they look amazing on blu ray , i've read.

Well The Animatrix on the HD-DVD version was on a DVD the Blu-ray version has The Animatrix in HD. But other than that yeah identical.

I haven't seen Burn After Reading yet, but I want to. I didn't care for W. It's like, it didn't know what it wanted to be, drama or comedy. And what was up with Thandie Newton's accent in that movie, she sounded like the nutty professor (Jerry Lewis version). It's like she belonged on a skit on SNL, not a movie. lol.

But yeah it seemed like Oliver Stone tried stay on the middleground and seemed like he was almost trying to make us sympathetic for Bush at times which was odd. While the movie seemed for the most part tried to stick with the facts it was still awkward. It was probably just too soon for a film like this I don't know.

Well, I don't hate bush as others do. And while Stone stayed somewhat in the middle, it was still leaning towards the left (well, duh! I know, it's Oliver Stone). But, I totally disagree on Newton. From what I have seen of Rice, she does not talk like that. I mean, Newton looked the part but didn't act it in my opinion. That accent was like...good grief. It's like she belonged on a skit with Will Ferrell on SNL. But, yeah, didn't much care for the movie.

Children of the Corn Announced for Blu-ray
Anchor Bay Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the 1984 horror classic 'Children of the Corn' to Blu-ray on July 28th to mark the 25th anniversary of the film, and just in time for the upcoming remake. Video will be presented in 1.85:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

Special features include:

JCVD's Kickboxer to Bout on Blu-ray
The 1989 Jean-Claude Van Damme flick Kickboxer is headed to Blu-ray Disc on June 16 courtesy of Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

This is an early announce so we don't have disc specs or bonus features to pass along at this time. They will be shared immediately once available.

Kickboxer on Blu-ray has an unusually low SRP of only $19.99 which will put amazon pricing in the $15 range.

2010:
We are DEFINITELY doing a 25th anniversary BD/SD GOONIES special edition next year.
WHERE EAGLES DARE coming to BD next year.
Branagh's HAMLET BD tentatively set for 2010.
THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES will be coming to BLU RAY next year.
THX-1138 is likely to land around the same time

2011:
MALTESE FALCON BD is an obvious choice..Coming for its 70th anniversary in 2011...

No date given:
GREMLINS BD is in the cards. Supplements are still being discussed.
NINJA TURTLES are coming on BD very soon.
We are hopeful we can re-address the LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS issues for BD, but nothing solid yet.....
EXORCIST is currently being remastered for BD by the director Mr. Friedkin AND the cinematographer Mr. Owen Roizman. No date set yet....But it will make your head spin!
HEAT is currently being remastered for BLU RAY under the supervision of Michael Mann. We hope to have it out shortly!
No Hammer [films] for BD yet...but we have hopes for those to come shortly.

Gran Torino Announced for Blu-ray
Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring the latest Clint Eastwood film 'Gran Torino' to Blu-ray on June 9th, day-and-date with the DVD release. Video will be presentedin 2.40:1 1080p VC-1 accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. A digital copy of the film will also be included.
