48 Hrs.
Airplane!
The Firm
Forrest Gump
Indiana Jones: The Adventure Collection
Zoolander

I can't say meh to any of those I would definitely want those. The Indiana Jones boxset alone is probably going to be some of the best catalog title sales of 2009 for Blu-ray. Looking at what else I personally want from Paramount this is pretty much the least of movies I would love to see get announced...

American Beauty
Anchorman
The Bad News Bears (Not the ****** Billy Bob Thornton one)
Beverly Hills Cop Trilogy
Collateral
Cool World
Dead Man on Campus
The Elephant Man
Friday the 13th boxset (We should probably see this no later than 2010)
The Ghost and the Darkness (Underrated movie)
Good Burger (This one is a joke...or is it?)
Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy
Minority Report (Screw you all I liked this movie a lot :cmad:)
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
Private Parts
Road to Perdition
Saving Private Ryan
Scrooged
Stephen King's Silver Bullet
South Park (The movie and every single season please)
Strangers With Candy (See above)
Team America: World Police
The Terminal
War of the Worlds

Some rumored and unconfirmed Paramount Blu-ray releases to possibly expect by the end of the year.

48 Hrs.

The ones I would probably pick up, I'm definitely getting the F13 stuff, especially if part three comes in 3D.

Part 3 is already confirmed to be coming out and the previewed cover art says 3D. But I am waiting for a boxset.

Blu-ray Q1 Sales Double from Last Year
According to new research conducted by Adams Media Research, Blu-ray sales during the first quarter of the year were approximately 9 Million units, double what they were during the same period last year. The huge increase in sales can most likely be attributed to an explosion in Blu-ray enable homes, which are now estimated to be 10.5 Million.

More importantly, of the 10.5 Million US homes that have a Blu-ray player, nearly 75% (7-8 Million) own stand-alone Blu-ray players, around twice as many as the same time last year. The correlation is obvious - twice as many Blu-ray players equals twice as many Blu-ray sales.

Andy Parsons, U.S. Chairman of the Blu-ray Disc Association Promotions Committee and Senior VP of Product Planning at Pioneer Home Entertainment, commented, "We are delighted to see continuing, significant growth of the Blu-ray Disc format in the midst of one of the worst economic downturns in recent memory. I think the numbers are a clear indicator that consumers really do understand the value of packaged media, and that even when times are very tough, [consumers] continue to seek out and enjoy the best possible high-definition content."

Yeah, I am waiting for the boxset for it too. Hopefully with the 3D one they give enough glasses.

Lord of the Rings Pre-order Now Available!

In an early announcement to retailers, New Line Home Entertainment in conjunction with Warner Home Video have revealed the cover art for 'The Lord of the Rings Trilogy' Blu-ray and Amazon has begun taking pre-orders. The release currently does not have a release date, but it is expected to be released later this year - most likely during the holiday season.

No technical specs or special features have been revealed at this time, but you can expect to see 1080p VC-1 video accompanied by a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

The only potentially negative news here is that the films will be presented in their theatrical versions instead of the more popular (and more faithful) extended versions. This is not entirely surprising as Warner made it well known early on that the theatrical versions would be released first, with the extended versions coming sometime later (likely around the theatrical release of 'The Hobbit'). However, any hope of the 2009 release using seamless branching to show both versions has now been washed away.

But, that doesn't take away from the fact that this is indeed 'The Lord of the Rings' - three films which together grossed more than $1B domestically - in high definition. This is one of the releases Blu-ray fans have been begging for, and you can bet this is going to be one of the best selling Blu-ray titles this year.

I really wish they would release this over the summer, considering how crowded the fall/winter will be, it would be nice for WB to release this sooner. Heck, it's already bad enough that these will only be the theatrical versions.

Well at least WB is being honest about their double dip plan. They said theatrical versions for now and the extended versions when The Hobbit comes around.

Yeah, I know, but I'm just saying, why make us wait till winter...I really, really would love to see these on High Def now. I tried watching the DVD's but...my eyes! lol.

Oh and by the way, M:I 2 wasn't that bad, it had some good action. :oldrazz:

EDIT: Sorry dude, but hotlinking from a site that is not your own is a no-no here. Even as a mod I've gotten infractions for doing it :csad:

^ lol...oh come on now. There was some nice action in that movie. Sure the story was kind of meh and all but the action was good John Woo action! Plus, you gotta love those doves flying all over the place. :p

mission impossible 2 wasn't even mission impossible. It was an American James Bond before Jason Bourne became THE AMERICAN JAMES BOND.

Escape from L.A.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

In regards to these two, I'd only want them if they did proper editions, unlike the bare-bones DVD releases. I mean, I DEFINATELY want another Carpenter/Russell commentary for EFLA, and, as much as I doubt it would happen, I would love to see the 3 hour cut of PTAA.
