Days of Future Past ** The Future can bring 'BOTH' / DOFP Producer speaks

Red Carpet News TV· caught up with "The Wolverine" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" producer Hutch Parker at the UK premiere for "The Wolverine"

Another interesting topic broached was the question of which group of actors moves forward in a potential sequel, the original 2000 "X-Men" cast or 2011's "X-Men: First Class" ensemble? Said Parker, "I think what's exciting is that it can be both. I think the nature of this project is that they intersect and the legacy can be unique and different for both casts, together and separately. There's a tremendous amount of opportunity that comes out of it."

So there you have it, taking into account that Lauren wants more original cast sequels, that Fox wants a bigger and shared universe and what this producer has just said, we can be sure that the studio and producers are in fact interested in doing sequels with both casts, and not just FC sequels.

Ive always thought they will exploit both options, but its really cool to start seeing the producers are really thinking bigger with this franchise.

If this were the case can you imagine the number of Marvel characters on screen in 1 year? Sheesh. Gonna get ugly.

Only if your perception is they are only doing DOFP so they can fix things for the OT

Singer has said in an interview that he will fix a few things but that isn't the main goal of this film

i assume the most obvious goal for FOX and Singer is to mix the casts and be a cross over in some fasion

They are doing DOFP 1:Because they have wanted to do stryline and 2:To do event film

Inless they do film showing say Apocalpse or Sinster returning In present with OT cast and mirror story showing their first encounter with them In past I don't see how that would work.

The next X-Men related film post DOFP will probaly be X-Force and I am sure that would be a more present set film.

And I can just imagine the complaining here Is Wolverine Is a part of X-Force.

But this Interview puts to end what some have been assuming that there can't be anything else do with OT cast.Even though ODFP put an end to the claims by some you couldn't get them back.

I don't see where that quote confirms any concrete plans of going forward with OT sequels. It's more along the lines of "having the potential", or "given the opportunity". Let's not extrapolate that to X-4, X-5, Sinister, Apocalypse, and the works. I personally think X-Force is the next movie and it could potentially setup X-4 or X-4/5 back to back, but it's just way too early to say this is THE plan going forward. I think the closest thing we ever get to a couple more X-Men movies is a FC3 setting up another storyline in the future, like Apocalypse. I could see that as a decent possibility if DoFP box office is good.

Like I said before, if they want X-Force and Cable, we we'll have more time travels.
So X-Force could meet 70's X-Men, maybe in Egypt. They will search Apocalypse, but first have to fight Shadow King.
Add young Storm to X-Men roster. As we know there was Egypt-Israel War in 60/70's, Ororo's parents could die and Amahl Farouk could care about little Ororo. After Logan's back to 2000+, young X-Men travel to Egypt, and Charles meets teenager Ororo...

I wonder how much someone like Hugh really wants to have to do all The training preparation to get the. 'Wolverine' body?! I think I read he found it hard.....it be easier for him to do ensembles as other can make up,for muscle power.

Plus I'm sure he's not contractually obliged.....


I am pleased that there are opportunities for both times, I'd like a xmen 4 or a prequel to xmen 1 directly with a young cyclops/storm and jean.
