The character was thematically used in SM3. He was Peter's darkside incarnate. He was evil and got what thematically needed to happen, even if it sucks the character can't return.

Raimi said what he wanted t osay about that (if he returns there will not be another symbiote in it). Arad got what he wanted from it, which was lots of money. They're moving on, fanboys need to too.

Venom's dead. get over it. Enough with every other thread and post being about ridiculous ways to bring him back or introduce Carnage.

Let's move on.

Couldn't agree more with this statement.

Spidey has a great rogue's gallery. And though I would've liked to see some more venom in SM3, I felt his appreance was satisfying. So, yeah, let's move on. Vulture, Electro, Kingpin, Lizard, Black Cat, Shocker, Beetle, Morbius, plus more i can't even think of could be the next big villain.

Venom=been there done that.

People will continue to make threads about this. Any character that is popular enough to spawn his own comic series will always be the subject of speculation.
I hope Venom is indeed out of the series. As long as Raimi is directing and Topher is portraying him, he's not Venom at all. It wasn't the pumpkin bomb that killed him, it was the stupid "mirror image" approach. He died a slow, agonizing death on screen. Let him stay that way.

He wasn't even my favorite TAS villain... and TAS is how he got so popular... the character is an overrated. Sandman, Ock, Lizard, GG... heck even Kraven pwn the sh:t out of Venom...

I agree. Venom is definitely overrated.

But why? I think people dig him for the same reason so many people dig Spawn. Not because both were created by Todd McFarlane and bear a striking resemblence (well, maybe part of that), but because they're both such dark characters with a "neat" and modern look to them. "Venom"; people like the word/name.

Why fans like me think he's over-rated: His powers are basically that of Spider-Mans, only souped up a bit. Carnage, same deal. Plus, McFarlane created like two or three other characters who all kinda resembled him, including Spawn, and no, I don't know which of these came first.

So yeah, I agree, Spidey has about 10 other villains who are quite frankly, better bad guys, and should've made it to the big screen before Mr. Venom. Ohhh well.

ya i agree, i like venom but i feel him(and carnage actually) are a tad overrated, i see alot of people say,'' damn carnage and venom are the best villians ever!'' and it gets annoying after a while

He'll be back in one form or another if the filmmaker's are smart. They don't want people in a post-Raimi series of movies to bail on them do they?

Well said ,DACrowe.

Venom is more dead than Jacob Marley.

What has him being overrated got to do with him being dead?

Norman in these movies is dead too, I doubt he'll be back and as for Dr Octopus, I don't think its been made 100% clear if he's dead or not but with 6 planned movies and assuming we dont get a s6 movie, I also doubt he'll be showing up again too. These 2 are popular and are neither overrated imo of course but they're pretty much good as dead.

venom's not dead i saw him chillin with the joker last week

I love how the same people who said that Venom would never appear in a Spider-Man film are now saying he won't return. It seems like they didn't and still don't understand just how popular Venom really is. You can say that he's dead all you want, but really, is it up to any of you? Also, the theme of Spider-Man 3 was forgiveness, so how does Venom returning defeat that?

Venom will be back. Deal with it.

Brock's skeleton says that return some of you expect is a bit more than a magic trick. It would have to be divine intervention.

Venom's gone.

Incinerated at the right time!

Bye bye Venom!

i would love to see carnage.but if its true raimi comes back to direct 4 then i guess we wont see him.
and if sm was to have carnage it would have to be a R rated movie. to give cranage his full potential

No, no. Eddie has teleporting abilities. The only fault with them is that he accidentally leaves his skeleton behind when he does it.

Why do people keep saying Carnage is an R villain? There are ways around it without watering him down. Just don't show any extremely violent deaths or mangled bodies. Mentions would be enough, and even at that you don't have to give graphic details. However, this would disappoint the gore fans out there.

Carnage could easily work PG-13. However, it is the character that sucks and why I hope he never sees the light of day.

Why should we deal and move on? Venom was poorly used by Raimi. It's Raimi who should move on - to another franchise, but not LotR - and turn the Spider-man franchise over to a director who appreciates characters from timeframes within our living memory! In other words, turn the franchise over to a director who's not an old fart.

Raimi had Venom do more in ten minutes than he has his entire comic history. Venom has done nothing but fail at destroying Spider-Man. At least in the movie, he killed Harry, and hurt him emotionally.
