The Greatest Criminal Mind of Our Time: Nicholas Hoult IS Lex Luthor

The inclusion of the Donner henchmen makes me believe that Lex will not be completely humorless, but Gunn did said that he doesn't like Gene Hackman's Lex, which makes the inclusion of the henchmen all the more confusing, but alas.

I think for me the priority is that he's well masked and manipulative, that he has built up a reputation in the city and gained the kind of power that only comes from controlling public perception.

If Lex doesn't care about how he's perceived by the world, if he doesn't care about being top dog, about getting away scott free with all the awful things he does, because no one can touch him... then his rivalry with superman loses something for me.

It can still be done... I just like it much more when Lex sees it as a battle for the top spot, rather than just an anti alien grudge or jealousy alone. I want Lex to be both jealous AND competitive/challenged.

So... is it a bald cap?
It appears to be, which is funny because he clearly shaved his head for real at the start of production. Maybe it's just that the injuries were easier to apply with a larger cap piece. Or alternatively, maybe Hoult has some competing filming obligations right now so had to grow his hair out?

Maybe! I also wondered if maybe the constant shaving was causing him problems? I vaguely remember Rosenbaum talking about being shaved multiple times a day (though may be remembering wrong). Could be it was causing skin issues? I dunno 🤷‍♀️

Pretty substantial injuries to Lex. Several cuts on his head and a big one on his chin.

The bald cap if it is one might just be for consistency with the scratches on his head. He has probably filmed a lot of scenes already when he had his head shaved.

I too want to see pictures of a bald man in a suit. It's quite the unusual sight.

I am genuinely interested to see him too btw, I just think it's funny that the thought of catching a glimpse at such a visually mundane character is eliciting excitement from the likes of us.

I'm curious to see his fashion sense, which I honestly would like to be a little more creative than just a million boring business suit.

Same. I'd like to see ascots, turtlenecks, houndstooth jackets, etc. Maybe something with some equestrian vibes. Generally I wanna see him look like wannabe nobility.

Hey, if seeing Ron Troupe walking through a door had me squealing, seeing bald Hoult in a suit is going to be peak 😅
