The greatest muppet movie of all time!!!

My mom watches Fox News everyday, and when she heard about this story, she called them a bunch of morons. It was good to hear that.

I feel kind of at a loss here but can someone explain to me why the "secret cameo" was so awesome. I'm just not familiar with the actor and thought there might be more to it. Other than he seemed right for it.

I thought some of the cameos were great but this one kind of went over my head it seems.

I think it's so awesome if you watch the show. But even then it's kinda meh or at least for me it was. Apparently they originally wanted [BLACKOUT]Paul Rudd[/BLACKOUT] to be that cameo.

what cameo are you talking about?

he is probably talking about jim parsons cameo as human walter(he plays sheldon on the big bang theory).

That would have been so much more awesome.

It sounds like something I'd watch. I just never got around to it and thought the cameo was referencing something else Muppet related.
I would of found that other cameo more appealing.

I enjoyed seeing several of the cameos but oddly got excited to see Judd Hirsch. I watched a lot of Dear John growing up.

I love Big Bang Theory, and I didn't realize Jim Parsons had a cameo, so I thought that was pretty funny. Both times I saw the movie, that cameo got the biggest laugh.

It's too bad they couldn't continue the tradition of keeping a Sesame Street cameo, since Disney doesn't have the rights to those characters. I read they originally were going to have Elmo make an appearance.

I saw the original Muppet Movie in the theater when I was only 5, so at the time Big Bird was the only cameo I recognized. :oldrazz:

Its not surprising the amount of cameos in the Muppet film. There has been a history of this, including the Sesame Street movie "Follow that Bird" which also has a cameo appearance from Kermit himself.

Speaking of which, does Kermit make anymore appearances on Sesame Street?

No, Kermit doesn't appear on Sesame Street anymore. Disney only owns the Muppet characters, and the Sesame Street characters are still owned by the Children's Television Workshop (which I believe is now Sesame Workshop), so it's a whole rights thing. Frank Oz still records stuff for Sesame Street a few times a year, though.

I'm old...I watched Sesame Street when Kermit still made regular appearances, there was no Elmo, Snuffy was still Big Bird's imaginary friend, and Mr. Hooper still ran the store.

Ah okay, I could've sworn he was supposed to be in it. I got a little kick out of the cameo we got anyways though, just cause I'm starting to grow fond of that show.

But yeah, I absolutely loved this movie. From the music to the humor, it was all pretty spot on. I really hope they follow up on this one with a sequel. Maybe one that focuses on
Mary and Gary's marriage?
I don't know. I would just like to see some of the same people return.

Oh and Amy Adams...my goodness, I'm in love.

from what i read at some sites paul rudd was originally due to be the voice or walter and/or to do the jim parsons cameo bit as human walter. But it just ended up being schedule problems that prevented him from being able to do the film.

Yeah, I could've sworn early on it was announced Paul Rudd was the voice of Walter.

That was running rumor for awhile. Would have been cool. But the guy who did his voice was good too. I just can't wait for video release either directors cut/deleted scenes. Since there was a ton of stuff cut.

I just saw it yesterday, very entertaining movie. My eyes got a bit watery at the end.

For Christmas, I got the 2 seasons of The Muppet Show I didn't have yet (now Disney, please release the other two!), The Muppets Take Manhattan on blu-ray, and all 4 seasons of Fraggle Rock.

It was a most sensational, Muppetational Christmas! :wow:

Hehe, I got Muppet Treasure Island, all 3 seasons of The Muppet Show, and a Kermit the Frog hat. Not too bad.:p

The Muppets are officially Oscar-nominated! Can't wait to see this performed on the show:

Congrats to them... i take it that we'll get to see not only the Muppets on stage singing.,.. but Segel & Parsons as well? *Bounces*

That would be perfect. I was actually hoping the "Life's a Happy Song" finale would get the nomination, since everyone performs that song. But I'll take the other awesome song getting nominated too...especially since they were completely snubbed by the Golden Globes.

Hell, I would have happily nominated this for Best Picture if I had the power to do so. I don't think I enjoyed another movie as much as I enjoyed this one last year.

I was hoping "Life's a Happy Song" would get nominated too, but I'm so happy "Man or Muppet" got nominated. That song had me in stitches. Congrats, Muppets!
