The Gun Thread

I'm resurrecting this thread. Why? Because after months of buying piece by piece, I have finished my AR15 (bottom rifle).
M4AR15.jpg

The top rifle is my Colt M4 with the 37mm launcher removed.
The bottom rifle is my AR15 I built. I based it off the one used in Punisher War Zone minus the G36 airsoft launcher they used for his grenade launcher.
I would have finished this sooner, but with Tropical Storm Lee, my apartment had a foot of water through it and I have to move out for a month while my landlords completely renovated my apartment.
I'm hoping to take it out next weekend and get it sighted in and ready for my shoot with the troops the weekend after.

Nice gear Kable.

Interestingly enough, me and some buddies went and shot today. I was going to resurrect this thread earlier this week, so I am glad that you did.

I will add some pics soon.

How about some shotguns? (these arent mine, just some cool looking ones)

Thanks. I was going to go shooting on Saturday, but we got the snow storm. I'm hoping to go this weekend.

Nice choice on the shotguns.

I'm so envious of you guys.

I live in California and the more I read up on the castrated gun laws here the more of a deterrent its becoming for me to buy a Mossberg 500 or a Remy 870.

A shame really when its my constitutional right as an American to bear arms. I really hate California sometimes. It empowers the criminals yet tries to chokehold the power of law abiding homeowners. Its ridiculous really.

I'm sure the majority of people on here are to young to own any type of gun, but to those of us who are old enough where are my fellow gun owners hiding? I figure if there is enough we could come here to discuss what we own, want to own and any reviews, updates and range reports. Oh, and of course pics of the guns we do own. So, I'll kick it off. I currently own...
2 pistols ( Charles Daly 1911 clone and a Taurus 24/7 9mm)
a Colt M4 with a 37mm launcher
a Hi Point 9mm Carbine
and a Mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun.

I belong to two gun ranges as well. I have my concealed carry permit and I have been requested by several people to train them on how to handle and care for pistols.

I will be picking up a GSG-5 in a couple of weeks. A GSG-5 is a .22LR caliber clone of the HK MP5 SMG. I can't afford a true 9mm MP5 as they run into the high thousands.

I will post pictures if this thread takes off.

So what is everyone else carrying?

Mind if I ask why you like guns so much?

I've always liked guns from when I was a kid. Ironically, I learned a lot about guns reading G.I. Joe and the Punisher/Punisher Armory.
I've gone hunting, but didn't care for it, so I don't hunt. I love spending a day at the range and firing off a few hundred rounds and trying to get better at shooting. It's no different than why someone likes comic books, video games or whatever else we are all here for. Whenever I've had a bad week, I can take out a lot of aggression on some paper targets or at times old hard drives. It's a hobby that makes you respect the power that a weapon can have, learn a discipline, hone a skill and I've learned how to build an AR rifle. I highly recommend anyone go and shoot a pistol or AR rifle at least once.

Fair enough, I guess. So what do you think of the crappy idea for the Punisher TV series?

I used to carry one of the bad boys when I worked at Brinks. I'd like to have kept it but I'm not the type of guy who should have a weapon.

I'm hoping it gets canned. The premise sounds terrible. Cop by day and Punisher by night is not the character.

Exactly. They'll probably release a crappy costume shot, hire a has-been star as the villain, change the costume due to negative fan reaction, shoot a pilot, then can it.

I wasn't praying there, just exclaiming.

I know ,I was being a smart ass. I live next to a church and whenever my brother or his gf say Jesus in anger I like to thrown in a little Amen.

The Smith and Wesson Sigma is probably the WORST gun that they have ever produced. I have read multiple bad reviews about how unreliable they are and a former co-worker and SWAT member told me that because of their low cost, his agency purchased these for everyone. After 1 day at the range, they returned them, cancelled the contract and went with Glocks.

What happened? Someone lose a genital or two?

My first Shotgun was the Winchester 1300 Defender.

He said that 80% of them had multiple failures to fire, failures to feed and other very basic problems. He said they evern tried a couple of different ammo types with no luck.

Based on that, its not something I would trust with my life/safety.

.

Thats a great first gun. Ruger makes good, relaible stuff. I like the looks of their AR rifles that recently came out.

LOL, I remember my first handgun, it was a cheap, sh**ty .380 that I resold to a friend for $100.

I've currently got:
