It is only my interest in history that I ever began to like firearms, and even then, only for weapons before say...1970? Then they became plastic, and generally ugly, while the weapons from earlier times were made of good ol' wood and metal, and actually looked good as a collectible piece.

I agree with a comment from before about how guns should be like lightsabers...a weapon that should exist in fiction. Alas, it is not so.
