Did you get to hear them at all yet?

I opened the particular site on Amazon, went to get my headphones and a cold beer, clicked 'play' on the first one only to find out it wouldn't play. Then refreshed the site and got a 404.

Please shoot me.

Lol that sucks! Haha. But you can listen to them here.

You "feel" but you probably couldn't have. I don't mean to be an a** here, but I'm kind of tired of reading the same comments over & over again on the internet of people thinking they could have written a movie better. Those who say that have no idea what being a writer really means, it's easy to say that from an outsider perspective though, I get it.

I get what you say. And don't get me wrong, I gave the movie a 9.5/10 so it's more like it was so close to perfect that the very few bad things just bother me that much more. I don't know if I could've written it better if I had to write it from scratch, though I'm sort of a writer and let's say if someone had given the final script of TASM for me to edit, I would've had a lot of ideas on how a scene could play more efficiently, some add-ons, pacing, shaping out the villain more clearly

if I was given a job to improve TASM I honestly feel I could've done that much. if I was given a job to write the entire movie on my own, well, I could've possibly done it but I don't know if it would've been better. TASM's script is a tough one to compete with so if I wanted to make it better, I would certainly have to use 90% of what's already there

You mean well, but I'm pretty sure that whatever the fans think of, the creative team thinks of too, and if it's not in the movie, it's because it either doesn't work or it doesn't belong.

If you're "sort of" a writer as you say, then you know how incredibly tricky it is to make stuff work, there are so many scripts, even great ones, that have dialogue in it that reads as completely cheesy or terrible, and yet the actors make it work, or hell, even one slight change can bring the whole thing down.

That's true. The delivery from the actors is as important, if not more important, as the lines that the writers wrote.

I agree. There are flagged events that we get to see but the whole impression that I think Max will be giving off is that he's been trampled on and over, forgotten, passed by and treated like crap his entire life. So while I think his mom forgetting his B-day or Spidey forgetting his name wouldn't send him over the edge it's a culmination of a life long dealing with that kind of environment of him being looked down upon and that's how he perceives his world. Now he gets some power and he has the ability to stand up for himself. Can you imagine someone that's been picked on and treated like garbage their entire life and just lets that anger build up with no resolution? They just hide it in quiet frustration until one day, just one event causes them to pop. IMO this is how Max will be represented and we'll not only feel his pain, we'll be made to fear it once he becomes Electro and unleashes that anger.
That's a great post. I feel like mostly, Marc's trying to capture very real characters and treat them very human despite this being a comic book series.

well, when I say "sort of" I mean that it has been a long time hobby of mine, I haven't published anything nor have I graduated with any writer's degree, but I generally have a love for coming up with stories, fan fiction and original pieces alike. I don't think I'm at the level of a professional movie script writer, but I do think I have a better sense for story writing than an average fan. Actually, my first work to be published is gonna be in a youtube animated show that's currently in development. we got a good chief animator, and having seen the animation tests the animation quality itself is not that far from a show like family guy so for youtube it's quite ambitious

I also have a sense for delivery (which is a shame because I'm not very good at acting, I simply just know what kind of deliveries would work in certain situations)

anyway, I acknowledge your point and I agree to a certain degree. but I don't think that it's quite so that "whatever the fans think the creative team will think of too". sometimes those kind of people get excited about one idea while they will give up on another idea while they unknowingly haven't uncovered its true potential

I wouldn't be surprised if they checked out extensively forums such as ours to see what fans hate or like, but really, in the end, there's just so much stuff that sounds awesome or is awesome in the comics but just can't translate to live action, but that's an obvious remark there.

But anyway, if we keep talking about this, we should do it on the general discussion thread instead.

cool, let's =>

It's only a short main theme and the upside is it can be spliced into action scenes and the general score a lot easier. The Rhino chase clip for example when Spidey jumps into the back of the truck. Just a few seconds of the theme is needed, no build up or anything.

Short and easily usable, yes. I'm just not warming up to the melody for this Spider-man theme. It's too brassy and I don't really like the staccato emphasis...imo, it sounds like a news theme. It's not that big a deal I suppose because I do like most of the other tracks that I listened to via the samples. Some of them were downright awesome. I'm so thankful that Marr, Pharrell, and Eizinger were able to add their own input to the score.

Thanks. I just don't think the whole Max's mom forgetting his B-day and Spidey forgetting his name should be taken so literally in terms of those are the only things that cause Max to become angry. I think Marc is gonna show us just how much of a downer Max's life has been and how much he gets walked on and treated like garbage. And more importantly I think a lot of this will come down to how well Jamie is able to act this stuff out and show how humbling and sad Max is as a character. I'm pretty confident in the two of them to get this across and make us, the audience, connect with Max on that level.

Definitely. People like to take things word for word and hang on to it. Judge it. I do it too. It's hard because we haven't seen the movie.

But I feel like Jamie is gonna do it. Based off that "Clear Shot" clip, he got me. Just by that line, "I don't want them shooting at me anymore." I kind of got chills and felt sad for him. I'm sure he was a nice guy and this was the last thing he wanted to happen to him.

I haven't watched any of the new footage. But so far Electro really reminds me of Dane's character, Andrew, in Chronicle.

Mm I could see the comparison. But if I were to make a guess, I'd say that Max is a bit special in his head, as opposed to Dane's character Andrew, who isn't really special...crazy in the head...just more of a really deep, broken outcast.

I think Max be a little more crazy. I mean, he's older and he never made a change for the better (albeit a short lived one) like Andrew in high school. So his emotions have festered for longer. But the ****** home life, the desire to fit in, the tragedy of your persona striking out at people through superpowers of all things. I just really get that same vibe.

Yeah well from bird's eye view, it's the same set up.

Wait, wait, Dane's character is Harry, but also Andrew? Andrew's character is Peter, so Dane is Peter, who is Spider-Man? And Spider-Man, who is also Harry (a.k.a. Green Goblin) reminds you of electro?
...Andrew...Harry...Spidey...Goblin...Peter...Max....Dane....Electro.....Aunt Carnage......you see all of them in Spidey's eye?!!

Damn your right, they must of just took it down. Oh well it's gonna be released soon anyway.
I must have been quite recent, because I did manage another listen before they shut it down.
