The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Hans Zimmer Score thread - Part 1

His score was fantastic, I might even say it was superior to Elfman's!

I'm Electro, the chorus to I'm Spider-Man, I Need To Know, and the Subway Lab music (Don't know what it's called) were particularly great!

The score works well in the film itself, too. The theme in context made me smile.

I loved the score! Even though the film was very good on its own, I don't think it would have been as enjoyable if Horner had returned for TASM 2.
Electro's music, the pieces that play during the Gwen/Peter moments, the new theme; it was all so good.

Ground Rules had me tearing up in the movie.

Just got this in the mail.

It's glorious. :hubba

That looks sweeeeeet. What did you think of the soundtrack in the movie.

The actual released OST, I think I'll give it a 8/10.

But having seen the movie now, I'm very dissapointed in what was left out. There were a lot more emotional pieces of score in the movie, that didn't make it onto the released OST.

So. Movie score: 8,6/10. Released OST: 8/10.

Enjoy it, SpideyK.

Having listened to the score beforehand, and now having seen the film, I have an added insight. I know what goes where. You're My Boy, I Need to Know and others are even better when recalling the scenes in question.

Yeah, I listened to the OST before seeing the movie, as well.

Weirdly, I had a lot of the scenes figured out, just by listening to the OST, which had me a little annoyed.

My fault, really, though.

Have to say I was not a fan of the soundtrack for this or the ASM1. Both were lackluster for me. Maybe they work better on CD and out of context.

I didn't like Zimmer's theme that much. It works well for smaller moments, but when played bombastically it sounds a bit half-baked. I think it lacks the soaring quality that Elfman and Horner had in their themes.

So. Movie score: 8,6/10. Released OST: 8/10.

Like I said,
The movie is around 2 1/2 hours long, and this is a Zimmer release. So, yes, i'm sure there will be a ton of great music left off the CD, with some alternates in the film. But, like always, I'm sure the complete score will leak a few months after the film lol.

I know. Pretty sure I even replied to you on that one.

Anyway, the complete score for the first movie hit the Internet pretty fast, so I'm hoping the Zimmer score will, as well.

A loooooooooot of good stuff was left out.

I feel like the only two tracks in the movie were "My Enemy" and "I'm Spider-Man".

For Zimmer, I felt it was too generic. IMO.

That's just me though. :oldrazz:

I'm sure it will. Most Zimmer stuff leaks quickly, although some take a bit longer than others. I remember being stoked when TASM sessions hit the net, only took one month after the film.:cwink:

I chose you, I'm Moving To England, You're That Spider Guy, I'm Spider-Man, Ground Rules, I'm Goblin, and I Need To Know are my favorites :D

Hah, remember signing up on FFShrine only to get my hands on the complete ASM score.

I never really understood why stuff shows up there so quickly, though.

I didnt appreciate the Dubstep in the movie.

Otherwise it was kinda forgettable, but definitely much better than the first soundtrack

My favorite track so far is "You're that spider guy!" The build up is really intense and emotional. Where does that fit into the movie? The end?

The 'Cold War' and 'No Place Like Home' cues are excellent. 'No Place Like Home' is quite affecting to me now, the middle section.

Since you saw the film and know what goes where, AnneFan, would you mind telling me where "I need to know" goes? I'm completely perplexed as to where it belongs.

Lucky people who know insiders, I suppose lol. Wish I had that connection.
