^^Not everyone has so easy a time.
I've known plenty of folks who really struggled.

Make sure you get enough protien. When I was dieting at first I had the same problem. I learned I wasn't getting enough protien by half. Once I upped it back up -- whey protien powder is our friendso mostly i feel like ive tapped out at having lost 12 pounds. i dont really have that much energy and my running/working out is becoming more off and on. so im going to try and add "get more rest" and "eat breakfast" to the things that i want to do list. oh, and ill probably sign up for that livestrong site, 'cause i know part of it has to be what im eating still.
I've had a pretty easy time stopping smoking Cigarettes. Like I said a couple of days ago, just drink cold water. I'm surprised how easy it has been, just stop buying them, the rest will follow suit.
Cool. Just what I need.
I used to be fairly healthy. At 5'6'', I used to wiegh 145 and could bench press 200lbs. Now, after a years bout of depression from personal struggle and then my fiance and I breaking up this past fall, I weigh 200 and can barely benchpress 140.
When I look in the mirror, I can say, "yeah, you should lose some weight, dude, but hey, you still look good". But I recently saw some pictures of me and it was a complete shell shock, the difference between looking in a mirror and seeing pictures is sickening. I'm doing what I can (detailed below), but I'm not really seeing much difference...so any help, advice, supplements, would be great!
My routine:
Monday, Wed, Sat: Weight lift. Arms, Shoudlers, Chest; Stomach, Back, Legs; Little bit of everything, respectively.
Tuesday, Thurs, Sun: Treadmill ( i try to do a mile each time)
I don't really eat so bad, I think most of it has to do with my soda consumption (up until recently I'd drink aloooooot of that stuff...now I'm down to 1 - 2 soda's a day, which is still too much). But I've been drinking more water, taking that Acai berry stuff, and eating more fruit.
I guess my immediate goals are to loose at least 30 pounds by summer, if that is even possible, and to be rid of my soda addiction, which is the main culprit.
That's what I'm trying to do...This was pretty easy for me when I did it a few months ago. My advice is to drink at least 4 glasses of water a day and then if you're still thirsty drink a least 2 glasses of an all natural fruit or veggie juice. Then after 4 glasses of water, 2 glasses of juice if you still WANT a soda you can have a soda.
Within two days I stopped soda altogether.
Good luck.![]()
That's what I'm trying to do...
I DO allow my self a soda each morning (my excuse is the caffeine helps me wake up for my 2 hour commute to work everyday) but to make up for it I'll drink water for the rest of the day (not alot of water, but water regardless).
Have you found that since stopping the soda intact, you've lost wieght and/or its been easier to loose weight?
Make tea. Its low in Calories, and you can find some higher in Caffeine than Coffee.Yeah all soda is ****. I don't like the taste of diet soda, so that will help me remove it soon. I just like to have some caffeine in the morning, and I really ****ing hate coffee.
Oh hell yes. I've lost nearly 50 pounds since stopping soda. And it was only over the course of a few months. Also that weight has never returned.
Vitamin Water is terrible for you. Just Drink Water, if you want Flavor, and something good for you but not water drink FUZE Slenderizers. They have about 5 to 10 Calories per bottle and have all kinds of Vitamins. Here's a list I saw recently:Thats good to hear (and congrats to you!).
Losing 50 would be the absolute ideal for me, but I'm shooting for 30 (it seems alot less "impossible" to me at this point).
Does anyone find that sports drinks (powerade, gatorade, propel, vitamin water, etc) are good or do you think they hinder one's weightloss? I've heard so many conflicting opinions...
Once you stop telling yourself, "Oh, I can have this one soda," I think you'll find it to be much easier. Get rid of all the soda in your house. Diet soda isn't really any better for you...the sugar substitutes used it in are HORRIBLE for you. I know people who have gained more weight from drinking diet sodas than regular. I found that once I stopped drinking soda completely, very soon I didn't even miss it.
