The Healthy Hypesters Challenge

Goal Acomplished. Will begin fighting crime soon. Finished my face this morning.

i been slacking like crazy the past two months, so i think it's time to start getting back in to some good habits again. i have been staying at a steady weight though instead of gaining it back which is good though.

I'm setting a new goal of losing 9 more pounds :)

For real, I got a cuz that 'claims' we can start w/ the weights, since he's pieced together a pretty good bench. I've found even a bad start is a start, string a couple of those together and you can begin to form a routine. It's hard tho.

Also, MUCH less soda.

There was a newer study last couple of weeks that said in our U.S. diets all the sugar in the pop we down by the liter is porportionaly worse than we think, cause we think it's just liquid. That's where a lot of the sugar is.

If your trying to slim down and your not eating right already, it's better to eat than to not eat and just drink soda, diet or otherwise.

and 92 Days without a cigarette.

I've gone almost 3 weeks wihtout cola of any type, though I do drink 200-250 mL of juice a day for Vitamin C, even though I know it has sugar.

I've been drinking between 3-5 bottles of water a day since I stopped drinking cola.

Also, I've been replacing bread with whole-wheat english muffins - smaller portion size, less fat and fewer calories.

It is my goal to lose 30 pounds by the time I return to school in January - I'll have a gym buddy from school once I get back to Toronto, so just a few hours every week (and I walk almost everywhere because I have no subway pass), and this should work out (pun intended).

Must admit, I’m nowhere near my goal. All the attractions attracted me too much, ofcourse. But I’m going to start again, must be beach ready in less than two months. Anyway, I found my lost Billy Bootcamp dvd’s (..I never believe things that they sell on tv :o) so I’m doing that with the normal fitness routine and no candy and chocolate. Hoping that this time it will work...

giving myself a push for the entire month of June

* no sodas at all (i rarely drink them, but only sprite or sierra mist) none at all
* 25-50 situps a day
* no french fries
* no ice cream
* ride bike at least once a week

anyone up for it with me?

I can do all of that except the bike thing. I don't own one.

Day One - Complete
got in my 50 situps and 50 leg lifts too. going to try for the bike tomorrow night after work
going to try to up my water intake too

That may help curb the cravings/control your food intake as well.

I gotta get back to my gymathon goal...and add to that the goal of cutting out sweets. I don't even normally like sweets--it's just that they're readily available at work and everyone pushes it on my desk because I "have a better metabolism" than my much older colleagues. Diet is the hardest thing to manage I find. I can bust my ass at the gym on a regular schedule, but I can't for the love of god deny myself a bag o' chips.

Well, I'm not going to do that plan (definitely can't do the soda thing), but training for the Chicago Marathon begins either next week or the week after, so gotta get back to a better running schedule than I've had for the past month. This training cycle though, I want to work on my core muscles and actually do cross training (biking, swimming or something like that). So I guess that's my revised goal.

sounds good. trading running for bike, even walking may be something i will try as well

sounds good

no one has to do the same thing i am doing, but thanks to all those who are attempting to do it or something else. June can be our very own Get Fit Hype Month or something

Completed Day 2
still didn't get to do the bike, but i did a lot of stocking and hauling at work so i know that helped out a lot.
i dread doing the crunches but once i start i'm ok

a friend of mine told me last night she read that to find out how much water you should intake a day, you take your weight and divide by 2. thats how many ounces you need. anyone know of any truth to that?

Not sure--what happened to the 8 or something glasses a day? Is that a myth?

P.s. someone left donuts at the back office...please help!

i dunno. she read it in the Biggest Loser book she says. i'm on my 3rd bottle today. i need to up my water intake, but i really don't drink much throughout the day at all, so I gotta get in the mindset to drink more

Day 3 - complete

have done 50 situps every day in june so far. today's the first day i actually felt a lil burn. i got some wrist weights packed up somewhere, i think i'll look for those tomorrow and try incorporating them. also have a pedometer that i need to find
