I've never seen either of those movies...:csad:

Now is your chance. :cwink:

And it has now been announced that the Slim PS3 will be able to bitstream audio. Is that just another way of outputting the audio or will it be an improvement?

From what I understand, no it's not an improvement in sound quality. It just means that the HD audio won't need to decoded in the PS3 before being sent out to the speakers. So for you (and me) the display on our Onkyo receivers won't read LPCM for every movie we watch, but will display either DolbyHD or DTS-HDMA. I believe the benefit here is for people who have HDMI receivers, but ones that were not capable of decoding the HD audio. Anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken at all.

Rocky Collection Coming to Blu-ray
In an early announcement to retailers, it has been revealed that MGM Home Entertainment is set to release the Blu-ray compilation 'Rocky: The Undisputed Collection', which includes all six 'Rocky' movies, on November 3. At the moment, there are no release details, other than it will be a seven-disc set.

Up to now, the only titles from the franchise available on Blu-ray were the first and last, 'Rocky' (released by MGM) and 'Rocky Balboa' (released by Sony).

So why is Besy Buy getting an early release of Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dea? Not complaining just wondering. I'm excited for both of those.

Just an exclusive deal to help sales for Universal and Best Buy.

Exorcist Blu-ray Coming in 2010 with Both Cuts
Home Media Magazine publisher and editorial director, T.K. Arnold, has revealed in his blog that William Friedkin's 'The Exorcist' will be released on Blu-ray "in time for Halloween 2010". This edition will feature a new restoration, including both the 1973 theatrical version and the "version you've never seen" from 2000.

The transfers were completed in July, under the supervision of Friedkin and director of photography Owen Roizman, who had had opposing views early this year over Friedkin's new color-timing of 'The French Connection' for its Blu-ray release.

As we reported earlier this month, 'The Exorcist' was one of the titles, along with 'Caddyshack' and 'Doctor Zhivago' to stop being sold on DVD from September 4 to bolster demand for the upcoming Blu-ray editions.

Next Batman Movie to be Fully Shot in IMAX?
Ain't It Cool News has posted an interesting rumor saying that Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. Pictures could be planning to shoot the follow-up to The Dark Knight completely in IMAX format:

The THIRD chapter of Christopher Nolan's Caped Crusader's saga could very well be FULLY shot in IMAX, not IMAX Digital - but the beautiful, stunning IMAX that we saw pieces of THE DARK KNIGHT in.

Now this is something that I'm sure a lot of you will feel is a no-brainer. Nolan blew us away with the IMAX sequences in that film - but it was a very tough process to work in. Mainly due to the limitations of how many available real IMAX rigs there are. Not only that, but lenses had to be created, adapted and god forbid one broke down. Part of the reason that Nolan went forward with INCEPTION first - besides taking a creative break from the cape and cowl adventures... was possibly to create a few new IMAX cameras made to his specs. Once again - the cost of shooting an entire feature film on IMAX... the stock, the time it takes to reset, to load, to move the cameras... Well... it is daunting, but as Nolan proved with DARK KNIGHT - the difference is stunning.

We'll have to wait and see if this does indeed happen.

That would be cool if they shot the whole film in IMAX, although, I would have preferred franchise to remain consistent in aspect ratio. Like, the first film was in scope so they all should be in scope. That kind of annoys me with the Spider-Man films.

Dear FUNimation,

Release Hellsing Ultimate on blu-ray dammit and get to work on the rest of them :cmad:

All depends on how well their current Blu-rays and announced ones sell my friend. They have a good chunk coming up so they must be selling alright.

Going to be buying Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead in a few minutes. Only the third time ever that I will be buying a Blu-ray from Best Buy. I'll let you guys know how they are.
